Warn 8274 rebuild

I just picked up an older 8274 that is in great shape for $330 bucks. I started to tear it down to do a new seal kit and so on, do some polishing on the case, and install new synthetic line. Has anyone rebuilt one of these....I would love any advice!! Thanks in advance!

Rebuild mine about a year ago. Pretty easy and well needed. All you need to know is right here! This helped me a TON!......Drew

Ok I'll check it out. The winch is in excellent shape....almost felt bad for only giving the dude $330. The best thing is the aluminum....(polish)

Awesome winches, I had one on my old bronco, put it on the old tj and sold it with it, wished I'd kept it for this junk.
Rebuildable, and easy to do. great info on that thread.

I'll post pics as I go if someone can help me with uploading them. Oh yeah....and how do you change your screen name. Sold the rubi a long time ago. Now im building my 85' CJ (this circa 80 s' 8274 should top it off).

i rebuilt mine with the billavista article on pirate. i also bought a new motor from dc electric.

Nice find! I have thought about rebuilding one for my TJ, I like the look but not sure on the size.... night affect the cooling, but who knows. Nice looking regardless!
