    No crank no start Tj

01 4.0L Tj Automatic. Hit a pothole and the door chime beeped a half beep, radio flashed off then back on, the blower motor quit and the air bag light is on. Will not start with the key. I can jump the solenoid on the starter with the key on and the jeep starts, still no blower and airbag light on. The relay in the PDC clicks, but the starter does not draw. Ive bypassed the NSS didn't help, Ive swapped the ignition actuator even tho it wasn't broken. removed ignition module and turned with a screwdriver and still nothing I'm running out of ideas. Anyone experience an issue such as this?

it could be the clock spring

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning away from the clock spring because everything on the steering wheel works but I will look into it.

Check the wire than runs from the fuse box to the battery under the hood for disconnection or corrosion.

You say the relay in the PDC clicks? Unplug it and use a short piece of wire to jumper the switched connections (there's probably a diagram on the relay). If that causes the jeep to crank, try replacing the relay, they're fairly cheap.

Thanks guys, It turned out to be a broken 40 amp fuse for the starter. Didn't find it till I started a continuity check with a meter. It's the square type with the window on top that you can see the T in. It doesn't appear to be burnt.

At least it wasn't another broken fuel line!

I still say that our "trail fix" is less likely to fail than the factory part.

I was gonna say check battery cable connection...maybe getting corroded inside or not tight enough... since you could jump it across the starter.

    Glad it worked out!!!
