Question Generator Care, Maintance & Storage?

Last Monday storm knocked out my power for 18 hrs because of several snapped power lines. This storm also removed the roof and 50' patio cover of the house next door. The debris knocked over one of my 20' saguaro's and parts of the brick fence, but only fatality was my cactus.

Anyway, bought a 5000 watt Briggs & Stratton generator that powered my house and my other neighbor for the duration, worked very well!
Now to properly store it and have it ready for next armageddon, I put Spa-bil in the the remaining gas, but should I drain it, put some oil in the spark plug hole, store inside or outside??

What is a good process for this?

    Thanks!

proper mix of fresh fuel and stabil should last a year. fresh oil and filter and spare plug and fuel filter. you can fog the cylinder, but out here not really needed. the best thing to do is start it once a month to circulate fluids. store inside if possible and safe.

We run stability in ours too as we fire it up every other month!
In your area if it's stored in the carport or locked sheds ya have I'd surely chain it and hide it!
We don't do any pill or filter changing due to it not runnin often!
    Always fires right up!
Im back to the drawing board
