Anyone know a reliable/reasonable electrician in the east valley that will answer their phone? The top five on Yelp don't answer.
Pool pump circuit has a problem.

I had a pool repair guy here this afternoon but he discovered a problem with the breakers/circuit and said I needed an electrician to sort it out. The breakers buzz when activated, then they trip. No power to the pool equipment.

A.) Don't look for an electrician, look for a new pool repair guy. It's probably a bad breaker. I know you said east valley but roughly where at? I may take a road trip (since I can't take an off road trip) down that way and check it out for you.
B.) I don't have a B but the A looked silly by itself up there.

Good breakers don't buzz, they either trip or they don't. But you don't want the pool guy changing your breakers, unless he is very experienced at it. It doesn't sound like he is.

Non-College Educated Working Class White Deplorable....
Yea change the breaker out . Hopefully it’s one of the cheap $10 brands and not something like a zinsco. It’s an easy job. The only issue is if it has gotten into the buss bar if that’s the case and you have open spaces you can just move it otherwise you’ll need a new panel
I’m capable of doing . But I’m in the north valley and not worth it for a $10 breaker and 15 minuets
I thought that we had an electrician on here in the east valley

MPGs? Real trucks go by GPM...
The pool light is on the adjacent breaker and it behaves the same.

Darren Loftis, owner DTL Electric. He is in Apache Junction, so 20 minutes away
480 226-8850 Highly recommended.
Being Friday night he might not answer his phone though. If you want to use him and he doesn't answer, leave a message and then let me know and I will contact him and get him to call you back.
Burn it and beat on it
before you change breaker
turn breaker off
at motor check to see no power at capacitor on pump (multi tester)
CAREFULLY remove wires
turn breaker on
I suspect / predict no flip
If so, replace capacitor ($5-$15)
if breaker trips, turn off again
remove back cover from motor
check for power (safety check)
disconnect wires
try breaker again
if trips, most likely have short
fwiw, can also swap breaker with another (SAME SIZE...um duh...just saying)
Allen, it sounds as if the breaker is doing it's job. When it "Buzzies" you have a short going on, or as stated the connection to the buss bar has been overheated and has become loose. Good luck.
You don't need a Plan "B", if Jesus is plan "A".
