Never been there, but it looks like a nice place to explore impressive ruins.

Be careful there. The "Owner" has been posting a lot of rants to local FB pages complaining about people damaging/stealing his stuff. Some of his rants could be taken as a mild threat IMO. otherwise lots of talk about calling the law, setting up camera's to catch people, Etc. The guy is either at the end of his rope from legitimate problems, or he's off his rocker.

Is it on private property? Or does he just have the mineral rights? Anyone know? I know how to check for Maricopa county, but not Yavapai.

Thanks. According to their maps, it's BLM land. However, Yavapai seems to assign a parcel number to BLM land. Very different from Maricopa.

I would say the "owner" owns the mineral rights only. But, I'm not real familiar with the Yavapai stuff. Just remember to always be respectful and you'll be fine.

I was never interested enough to look into the legality of who owns what out there. Just trying to pass on some information.

I get that. But's always good to know who the legal owner is of any place once someone starts getting aggressively acting like it's theirs.

I'm sure in this case he owns all the buildings and equipment and is probably tired of the 2% that tear **** up.

He owns the mineral rights only, it’s not a patented mine. Yes he’s a little off his rocker but I’m sure people vandalize things like they always do. There is a lot of cool stuff to see there, and at the “town” of constellation just down the road.

As always, stay safe out there and respect the land
