My new tow rig! 2017 F250

Well I got into the tow game a few years ago and bought my first truck which at the time was a 2015 F150 Ecoboost. Loved that thing, it drove super nice and pulled my jeep no problem around the state. Well we decided to buy an RV and the added weight made the truck work a little harder than I wanted it to up and down the mountain grades. So while my F150 still had warranty and value left in it, we decided to trade it in for a new rig. Since Ford completely redesigned the new 2017 F250 we opted to go that route. I looked at Dodge and Chevy/GMC but ultimately stayed with Ford due to all the features they offer vs the other big 2. I can't express how impressed I am with this thing, it'll pull my rv at any speed up any hill and maintain a decent gas mileage at the same time. The F150 was great but this thing is amazing. Luckily the interior was identical so it was an easy transition for me to go from one to the other.

If anyone is on the fence about getting a new 2017 F250/F350 I would highly recommend it. Pure luxury with power for days to pull whatever it is you'll need to pull.

That's referred to as doing it right!

I was in the market for a new truck, but decided to put a little money in mine instead.

The new Fords have over 900 FT Pounds of torque! I don't remember the exact number, but in 2017 even GM has gone up higher than Dodge.

Looks great! Thanks for the review.

I have never believed any manufacturers for numbers. ATS did a comparison and none of them met the claimed ratings. http://www.tfltruck.com/2017/03/2017...s-power-video/
But all 3 have made big improvements in the last few years. It is hard to go wrong, just might not be popular with other peeps.

LOL @ the comments on that article! Everybody, literally everybody criticizing the way the test was done.

Those comments are funny to read. The ones after the tests were challenged and the results taken down. That guy Zviera is an idiot!

Yea, I agree. And their trailer towing numbers are just as goofy at times. I spent over an hour at a dodge dealer trying to understand their ratings for towing trailers. Once it finally hit me how they come to their conclusions, I laughed and had to walk away.

It's just great to see all three now making about the same numbers in HP/TQ. GM has finally entered into the "Tow Rig" category. It's a great thing for chevy owners everywhere. When the Chevy guys would start bragging on their trucks it was easy to shut them up. Now, it won't be as easy. It's a hard to pill to swallow for a Ford Fan.....

Any of the big 3's new diesel rigs will pull anything you put behind it with ease, thats no question. No need to even look at the numbers now days because they all have so much HP and a ton of torque to get that thing moving. Choosing one over the other because it has 100lb-ft more torque is out of the question now days. The way I look at it is it basically comes down to all the little things and the bells and whistles each offers. For me the Ford had everything I could ever want feature wise. The Dodge came in #2 and the Chevy/GMC #3. As far as looks go, I prefer the look of Chevy first, Dodge 2nd and Ford 3rd to be honest. The interior was the game changer for me since that is where I spend all my time is inside the cabin vs looking at it from a distance. The Ford is fully loaded inside with features and beyond. A few things that only Ford has that nobody else has that really drew me to them are the keypad on the driver door to unlock the truck since it uses a keyfob with push button start. The tailgate step is another big one. The biggest one of them all is the interior cab space. The chevy and doge felt crammed in the rear seats where the Ford has room for days back there and another biggy is the rear AC vents, which both Ford and Dodge had but GM did not. Last but not least a few other features only the Ford offers is the interior LED accent lighting in the cup holders, in the door panels and under the seats, it's a nice touch when driving at night and lastly the dual panel moonroof really makes it feel huge in there. Anyway I could go on and on but all said and done Ford won my business because of all the little things they offer, not because of looks or the engine/tranny combo or because they have the most power because all i'm towing is my Jeep or a small 25ft RV which any of the big 3 could do no problem.

So if you are shopping for a new diesel, 2017 or newer, be sure to test drive all 3 and you'll see what I'm talking about and why I went Ford vs the competition.

Anyone better do their research as well if they plan on spending 65k for a truck.

Always loved Ford style and amenities, just couldn't afford their price.
