    Photobucket now officially sucks!

Don't know if the rest of you noticed, but I have. Looks like after all these years of my extolling the virtues and speed of hosting our pics on Photobucket, they decided we now have to pay $399.99 per year to enjoy what they have provided for the last 14 years for free. 3rd party hosting.

Well, I am mad as hell. But not on the Mazatzal's. I've deleted my account there and suggest anyone else do the same. For what it's worth, I reckon because of this any picture thread I have ever posted here is now without said pictures.

Looking for alternatives. . . and finding some.

Damn! And I thought they were happy enough to 'rig' our election to get Trump in. Guess not, lol.

Lots of people switching to Imgur. How long before they start charging?

well, you can already sign up for a bigger account, their free account displays (I think) 250 pictures at a time, but doesn't delete them if you go over that, you just cannot see them in your account anymore. I've had a free account for 5+ years on there, and have had 0 issues. their business model was built on sharing pictures to reddit, so hopefully they stay the course with that.

You are a little late to the party, Ted...

On a related note, do not delete your photobucket account(s). Many users are instead filling their accounts with the following image. This both wastes photobucket's sever space and trashes their recent uploads pages.

Well, I didn't even see the other thread, I must have been drunk when I started this one. I didn't see it coming, just noticed that image on a few threads around the web. Then I saw it everywhere. As the other post you put in the other thread states, this is going to probably make the other free places charge. I used to host on my own server, but my bandwidth at the time was so slow. Now I have it, but my server needs a new hdd. Besides, I spent a lot of time on some of the trip reports I've posted. I don't see myself going through all that again.
