    No, it's this one:

So the areas we camp at for free with no hookups will now be 12.00 a night, unless they develop it with hook ups. If so, 30.00.

Sometimes it's more than I can take. It's like having people throw rocks at you from all sides. It appears, that even with all the comments against the project, they are going forward anyway. Even the airstrip is going to be improved camping.

Re: Vulture Mountains proposed land lease in Maricopa County

    Here we go again!

    November 13, 2018 Announcement

BLM Seeks Public Input on Vulture Mountains Recreation Area Lease Project, Draft Environmental Assessment

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Hassayampa Field Office invites public input on a proposed Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Act lease of a 1,046-acre parcel of public land in the Vulture Mountains, for recreation development by Maricopa County.

Under the proposal, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department would develop a variety of recreation facilities at the site, including a visitor’s center, picnic tables and shelters, equestrian facilities, nature playground, restrooms with showers, campgrounds and interpretive kiosks. Portions of the Vulture Mine Road would also be improved and realigned by the Maricopa County Department of Transportation in order to improve access to the area.

In order to process the lease request, the BLM has prepared an environmental assessment (EA). The EA provides analysis of the direct, indirect and cumulative effects of the R&PP lease and the right-of-way for the road improvements.

A public open house-style meeting will be held on December 4 from 6-8 pm, at the Wickenburg Community Center, located at 160 N. Valentine St., in Wickenburg. The meeting will include presentations by the BLM and Maricopa County.

A 30-day public review and comment period will also run from November 20 until December 19, 2018.

    What can you do?

The best thing to do is show up for the meeting and get involved. I realize that's not always possible when the meetings are in another town and during the week.

So, you send a comment in via email. You can mention the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976.

The Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976,
as amended, is the Bureau of Land Management
    "organic act"
that establishes the agency's multiple-use mandate
to serve present and future generations.

The County will attempt to stop Motorized recreation, competitive Events, hunting, target shooting, etc, etc....

Here is a link the BLM page.

Please get involved. The County should not be allowed to change how the public currently uses the land. (nut shell)

Thanks Doug. At every meeting I’ve been to, the BLM is so ‘pro’ this idea. The more they can ‘give up having to manage’, the easier their job is. They are so low on staff, it seems that this will be a tough one to fight. : /
yah, Huck you newbie, Rubicon drivin', mall Cruisin', bling-bling, bolt-on, got no drivin skillz, drove thru a AutoZone with a crap magnet attached, H2 wannabe, poseur! Pay attention!
If you would pry your sorry arse out the Scottsdale Fashion Square once in a while you would know more about the BLM and the USFS (you do know those acronyms, right?).

New to the area and to wheeling. I plan to attend the meeting in Wickenburg in December. Going to talk to my local group and let them know about this as well. Appreciate all of the hard work ya’ll have been putting in.
