    R/C Crawlers

Any other r/c crawlers out there? I think it was jeepdude775 that let me use one of his a couple weeks ago. I went and got a 1/18 scale ECX Temper to try it out before I spend big bucks on one. I really want a 1/10 Axial Wraith. Any opinions on these fun little virtual jeeps? Something fun to play with when taking a break from real wheelin.

    Re: R/C Crawlers

I built a couple last year while I was working in San Antonio. Without my garage/shop and my fullsize toys, I had to do something with my time and money!

This one is a replica of my '71 J2000 Gladiator. It is a RC4WD TF2 SWB chassis (full frame, leaf springs, solid axles, all metal) with a Parma Jeep Honcho lexan body that I modified with a back-dated grill and a bed made out of styrene. I did my best to match patina of the real one, but I'm an amateur compared to some modelers. I also fabbed the front bumper, added the truck box, aluminum slot wheels and Warn lockout hubs

    Here's the fullsizer

I also built this M715 based off a Viterra Ascender. It was originally a Blazer bodied rig, but the body was big and got hung up a lot, so I did this M715 based on the lexan Axial Nukizer body. I built the bumpers for this one too, added a canvas top and tonnou cover, some scale accessories, steel wheels, etc. It's definitely more of the crawler of the two as it's a 4 link and coil over chassis

Those are awesome. I like the scale looking ones the best.

Ok. I just found the scale one I wanted. It's an ECX Barrage. Love it. Steel frame, lights and 1.9 tires. Fun! I finally found a use for my leftover yard blocks.

I have a Red Cat 1:8 scale crawler that I play with. Also have 3 Red Cat Tornados, 2 of them upgraded to all aluminum and brushless. They aren't crawlers but are fun nonetheless.

Then again, after a year playing with R/C, I'm ready to spend more of my time with the fullsizers.

    Re: R/C Crawlers

I'd rather be playing with my JK too but since it's still the wife's DD this will keep her off my back (for the time being). Almost got the JK paid off then it's time to get her another DD so I can have the JK full time.

If I can get her to give it up. She loves it. Maybe I'll get my own.
