    Tow Rig Update

First off sorry for so few pic had a horrible time getting any of them to load so here are a few I could get.

Thought I would post up the latest updates on my tow rig. All in all I have been pretty happy with it but there is always room for improvement. With the camper and trailer loaded the gearing is a little off and I am finding transmission don’t have the life one would expect. old set up was a H.O. 350 turn key crate motor with 330 H.P. and 380 ft-lb or torque. The solution I have come up with is a LY6 6.0L, 6L80E and NP208 transfer case

awesome truck. put some airbags in the rear while you are doing work on it. super simple and cheap but help a ton towing heavy like that.

Beautiful old truck. Not sure that gasser is going to give you the power you desire. Time for a diesel!

You're getting plenty of practice with these LS swaps. Looks great and hope the install is a smooth one.

Very nice. Been towing with a gasser for decades and tow with a smoker a ton at work. Really can not tell the difference, although the smoker gets a bit better gas mileage and you have to know which fuel stations do not have diesel. Plus there is not a diesel truck out there that even touches the coolness of your tow rig!
A little bit of something is a whole lot better than nothing.

Got the shifter installed, radiator and fan shroud installed, had to raise the fan shroud an inch to clear the fan. I have to fill the gap between the fan in radiator

Hooked up power steering hoses, plugs Wires, plugs, and got the heater core hoses run. And have the fuel system from the engine to the pump run.

Waiting on some parts to show up this week. Then i can finish the fuel system. Make some radiator hoses, get new drive shafts made, work on the exhaust system then start the wiring.
