    Crown King Camping Spots

I am going on the all XJ crawl to the crown run this year and I am looking for somewhere to camp Friday night, hopefully near the trailhead. Does anyone know of any spots apart from the Lake Pleasant campgrounds? Any help would be appreciated.

No campgrounds that I know of. But if you go straight pass the 'CK rock' instead of turn right, it's pretty much all BLM land out there with tons of dispersed camping.

    Agreed^^

Once you go straight at the rock, look for roads that go west towards the river/wash. I've seen people camp down there. Even with camp trailers.

Doesn't the beginning of that trail start near Lake Pleasant? There are camp grounds in the Lake Pleasant park.

How about the north side of lake pleasant? Never been there but looks like quite a few roads that get pretty close to the water. Is that all BLM? If you camp and fish on the north side do you still need to pay any fees to lake pleasant park? I saw on their website there is a $6 or $12 fee for "primitive camping" just wondering if that applies to that area on the north side of the lake by Coles bay or Humbug bay.

The fee, as told to me by park rangers, applies to all areas of the lake. It's a use fee.

That being said, I've avoided paying the fee when using the north side in the past and was never questioned.

Ended up camping on the west side of castle hot springs Rd about a half mile from the end of the pavement. Rangers said it was BLM land. It worked out well.
