Looking for Info on Box Canyon

I'm new to the forum and off-roading. I purchased my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 15 months ago and have started enjoying exploring 4 wheeling. It's basically a stock vehicle with a few add-ons such as a set of Rubicon OEM rock rails, one size up set of BFGoodrich T/A KO2 tires, and a Smittybilt XRC winch. My experience to date is having run Bull Dog Canyon a few times, the run out through the Aqua Fria NM, FR172 to FR650 around Montana Mt, and recently I did the run from New River through New River Canyon to Carefree. I've made some measurements at points under front/rear differentials and skid plates and have minimum 9" clearance on the rear diff.

With that said, I'm very intrigued and interested in doing the run through Box Canyon starting off 79 near Florence. I've researched this and concluded I'd want to have someone with experience to go with me my first time out. My biggest question is how do-able is this run in my stock Jeep? And what are the areas I need to add to my experience level to prepare and tackle the Box Canyon?

Thanks and look forward to any recommendations and advice.

Hi, your rig will have no issues getting through box canyon. This can be done without body damage, assuming you don't drive into anything. You will get some scratches on the paint.
The hardest obstacle is 'the waterfall'. It's fun and can be a bit intimidating for someone new to wheeling but your rig is very capable of making it through. There was a recent run through box canyon. Take a look in the 'pictures' forum area to get a feel for box canyon. (BTW it's not usually wet).

I am going to try to get out there in the next few weekends. I'd be happy to lead ya.

Going through box canyon in your jeep will be like a paved road. You shouldn't have a single issue.

Will E, I'd be very interested in going. But (always a but ) I'm heading up to Grand Canyon NP the weekend of the 25th of Feb for a 3 month volunteer gig. I'm retired so IF you head out before then, any day, I'm game. I looked at the photos on the forum and read up on it in the AZ Off Roads book I purchased. The waterfall is the one area I had a concern, but all I've read says it shouldn't be an issue even for stock rigs. Thanks for the reply and invite!
