i was going to say build a cafe racer then scrolled down to your pic. i'm getting ready to start a scrambler build with my '73 yamaha tx650. good luck with it. we will have to go ride when we get our bikes done. let me know if you want suggestions for sourcing parts. i've been researching cafe/street tracker/scrambler bikes for a while now. found a lot of good sites. all from google so i'm sure you will run across them as well. i just sifted through some of the BS already.

does the kawi have a driveshaft or belt?

I got a buddy that does paint and bike work, He has most of the stuff I will need in his garage, I got pretty lucky that way.

That's actually a Kaw 750-LTD, which looks pretty original, and is the little brother to the 900 & 1000 LTD's which are starting to bring "big" $'s as collector bikes at auctions. I had the one-year (1976) 900-LTD that I'm sorry I ever got rid of, (especially now as they are bringing over $30-50K for low mile original examples). Being the fasted 0-100 mph production motorcycle of it's time, it was certianly an exciting machine to ride.

Well nothing new yet. Havent had time to work on the bike. I did get signed up for a basic riders course through team Arizona. Was able to sign up for $100 through the AMSAF.Org website on a scholarship they offer.

My first bike was KZ-650. Would love to find one now and restore to original. Bikes sure have changed since the 70s.

They have, I am waiting for my mechanic to take a look at it and determine what I need to get it 100% street worthy. My goal is to be riding it by next month
