I know this has been covered somewhere but has anybody triple towed with a gooseneck in az? can you do it legally or is it 5th wheel only.

As long as the first trailer is a fifth wheel type then you can tow behind it. (Unless something has changed)

Edit. I see what you're saying now. I'm not sure about that.

    triple tow

I believe it only applies to a 5th wheel and not a gooseneck coupler in the verbiage. That may be because RV's only use 5th wheel and most people pulling farm trailers don't need to double pull their toys and they didn't write it in. It may also have to do with that 5th wheel RV's have a breakaway system and farm trailers don't normally. You could call ADOT and ask the question.

I believe the intent of the law is to limit trailer sway and goose or 5th wheel should not matter. Cali and AZ are the only states around here that don't allow double pull with a bumper trailer as the first.

The trailer I bought was converted to gooseneck. It does have the break away safety to lock up the brakes should it come loose.

2nd ?. All legality aside. Is it safe. Would you triple tow with a gooseneck? These are all just ?. I have no plans on doing anything at this point.

I think the answers to your questions largely depend on whether or not your vehicle has sway bars.

I would want to know that the camper can handle the weight of the trailer back there. Most campers arent built that strong, which is why I would prefer a crawler hauler built on a heavy duty trailer. That does limit you to a smaller camper tho.

Some states also dont allow triples so that could be a pain

I was thinking flat tow and just in az. The real plan is to get a 4x4 quad on a rack on the back of the trailer. Trailer already has double receivers installed.

I would inspect that hitch to see how strong it is before towing anything heavy. See how its built into the frame and see if it can handle the weight.

I dream of something like this which IMO is a better way to have your Jeep and camper. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toy-Hauler-/...349&rmvSB=true

Not if they are 7k or 10k axles and heavy duty tires. Thats a light weight camper. Builds like this a very common.

May pull 2 units if the middle unit has a 5th wheel and brakes and has a weight equal to or greater than the rear unit; the rear unit is 3,000 lbs. or more and is equipped with brakes.

yeah, I read all that. just looking for real life opinions from people that tow goosenecks. I might just switch it back to 5th wheel and buy the new 5th wheel hitch from B&W that slips in the gooseneck turn over ball hitch. this way I don't have to worry about it. sent a email to adot about it. see what they say.
