    Re: Krispy's Cherokee

So today I wanted to see if it would run. I installed the new battery. After some fiddling around with the cables she cranked over. I decided to pull all the plugs and spray wd40 in the holes. I cranked it around some more, got new plugs. I cranked it again and nothing. I didn't hear the fuel pump running. I sprayed some brake cleaner down the throttle body. Pow! She runs! I ran it for a minute with the spray

I drained the bad gas and droped the tank. When I got it out, the whole tank and pump was rusted bad. Looks like I need a tank and a pump.

Look at that sucker!! No gas coming out of there.

Ha! That's awesome! So after the battery warranty, your only into it $50 and a fuel pump so far! Helluva score!

I need to get a tank too. Totally rusted out.

One of the best things abought xj's is I get to go on scavenger hunts at the pick-a-parts. Lets see what I can find.

    Re: Krispy's Cherokee

I got a new tank and fuel pump. I had a set of fuel injector that I put in with a new fuel filter. I blew all the old gas out of the lines. I cleaned the throttle body. I found that the distributor was filled with oil, need to get one of those. I just cleaned it for now.
After all that she started up and after a few adjustments she runs really good.

No I plan on keeping the d30 and getting a ford 8.8 rear. Doing a locker in front, I had good luck with Aussie lockers, factory limited slip in the rear with 4.88s or something like that. I want to be on 35s too. Maybe 33s for a wile.
