Toe Ring, errrr Tow Rig needs new shoes

Just hit 41k in the OEMs, looking for suggestions on what to replace them with. Truck is my DD but I'm also pretty much driving a trailer queen these days, so I do plan to toe/tow 1-2x a month. Thoughts?

Have a buddy running the Nitto Dura Grapplers on his Ram and he's approaching 50k on his set of tires with very good results. It's a street tread, but he's used them offroad a few times and they've performed well enough for what they are. He's had his truck for 2 years, so he drives A LOT - and about 35% of the miles are towing a 12k lb toy hauler.

I've had 2 bfg all terrains come apart and 1 that is not even close to being round. I would go with the Michelins.

used ta think that too, but at 4 years with plenty of tread left, 5 of 6 separated, couple of them threw the tread at a prius before I could get slowed down. All instances happened when towing and on the rear (dually and 5th wheel trailer) Discount warrantied all of them, so I am still running them but watching closely.

Are you referring to the LTX or the Defender LTX? Only two I could find at Discount.

i think that was the last set i ran on mine. I really liked them. I got about 60k out of the stock Michelins so i went back to the same tire (or close to it, models changed). Got 50k our of that set or so. I decided to go a little more aggressive and went with some Big-O brand ones. They are okay, chunked pretty bad offroad but have held up mileage wise and im about 40k on them with at least another 10k left.

Michelin had the LTX/2 and then changed those to the Defender LTX. I just replaced the factory Firestones on my Ram 3500 SRW with the Defenders. The Firestones went less than 30k before they were at the wear indicators. The Defenders have been good so far.
