Is there pic you posted recent? I've been wondering how the area was after the fire

No. This was before the wallow fire. Forgot that area burned in 2011. I need to get back up there and check it out.

Yes it is. And the Wallow fire didn't do much damage in that area.

But if you want to camp there, you are at the mercy of the personality of the 'Camp Host'. Some are good, mine was awful. She lied about fire conditions, had issue with the fact I was drinking beer and had guns. I'll never go there again.

I know it's too late this year, but maybe next year. We camped at brown Creek pretty often growing up in Pinetop. Didn't seem to be overrun with people and had easy access. The creek is more of a small stream but always runs during the summer.

Edit: here is a link with some general information.

I'm going to have to look that one up. I've been all over near that spot, not sure if I've been exactly there though. Thanks.

And I have to take back what I said about Upper Log earlier in this thread. It seems like its popularity has grown, there were tons of people camping there the week after the 4th.
