    Starting My Welding Business

    Hi Guys,
Just wanted to give an update, and start a thread. I am finishing getting my associates degree in business down in Tucson, and am moving back to Phoenix this summer. I am going to do some night classes, but in the meantime start my own business. I have been doing welding projects around my neighborhood since I was 15 (21 now) and my business spread rapidly by word of mouth. I have decided that I am going to rent out a shop and really get the ball rolling as I feel like this is a good time in my life to see if I can succeed in creating a business out of my passion. I wanted to create this thread to keep the VJC community that I care so much about, in the loop. Any suggestions on running a small business will be appreciated, and any feedback is welcome (good or bad).

Please check out my Facebook page to keep up with all my recent and past projects and give me some feedback!

    Awesome!

My advice - keep it simple in the beginning to keep expenses down. Be prepared to work 16+ hours a day, 7 days a week. Start with better than competitive pricing, but don't go too low. Don't set goals/due dates that you cannot keep. Honesty/integrity with your customers will take you further than low prices ever will. Loyal, returning customers WILL be your bread and butter!

Knowing you, I believe you have the potential to be successful in this business or anything you do!
    Kick butt Nick!

    Congratulation on your degree!!
