Eats grasses/cactus/greens. It's poop is like dried grass clippings, way easy to clean and doesn't smell, and 100 years. Weight will be 100-200lbs. Not sure the exact breed, I'm pretty sure it's a sulcata, but not 100%, I'm not an expert, she got it from her brother in law, who got it from a friend. She has had them since September, but simply won't have the room for two.

Here is a link with good info on care and feeding of a sulcata:
    http://www.tortoisesupply.com/SulcataTortoiseCare

Normally to buy a tortoise it costs between $50 and $200 (hatchling to year old) so if you want one getting one this age for free is a good deal.

You will want some sort of enclosure for it. at this size a 10 gal tank is fine until you get something set up outside. I bought this: http://www.petsmart.com/reptile/habi...pfm%3Dcategory But did not use the liner, they try to eat it. I just put about 2" of dirt from the backyard in it. and I use the bottom of a red terracotta flow pot for a water dish, Works well, and they can climb in an out easy since its rough. and one of these: http://www.petsmart.com/supplies/hab...t=pfm%3Dsearch for the hutch while inside the cage. I use a large pot buried half way in the ground with 2" of dirt over the top outside in the outside enclosure.
