    Some Father and Son Time!

    Saturday 5pm to 10pm.
    Arizona Mead Company
6503 west Frye rd suite 12
    Chandler Az.

Welcoming all to stop by and say hi!
    Thanks again.
    Greg.

So my son graduated from ASU!, secured a very good engineering job and then gave me a call. He was bored, wanted to open a Meadery. I had no idea what it was, but I said okay, let's do it!
After several months it is done and he is ready to finally open. We had a great and laborious time building this out to completion.
For those that are not familiar with what Mead is, it is made from honey, close to a wine. They are working to have it come out at about 7.5% alcohol content. I believe he has five different recipes going right now.
They are working to do a soft opening on the 21 of February , I am excited to see the outcome of all his hard work that he has invested in this.
Thanks for reading and letting me ramble.
    Greg.

Congrats. Love a good mead. I wish him luck and will make it a point to try some. We just kegged and bottled our last 6.5 gallon batch of mead. It's in the lil keg to the left of my last batch of beers-the two larger kegs. (taken Super Bowl Sunday)

Whoa. You guys had me at "mead", "kegged" and "kegs". Greg, this is not enough information considering you also had me at "soft opening". Where is this and what time do we show up?

Is that even possible? I thought i predated alcohol!! I was sure I invented the hangover.

Make it a meet and greet when it opens. I'll try some.

Thanks Doug. I love the not-so-little, pups, too. They were the early shift bartenders.

As for mead, it is basically an early alcoholic beverage that is made from fermenting honey. It's been around for a few centuries. Like beer, you can tweak the recipes and create different flavors. Some are too sweet for me. We use a champagne yeast when brewing our mead and it produces a dryer, not-so-sweet, product. Good stuff. We use N2 to charge our kegged mead. We add a mixture of fresh honey, in hot water, to the remaining mead to 'charge' or kick start the mixture, before we bottle it. That keeps it carbonated in the bottles. We also re-use flip top bottles for bottling our mead. They work well and rarely, if ever, leak.
