    First bike!

picked up a 80' honda cb900c last night. super clean just have to go thru the carbs and tank as its been sitting for a few years. This is my first motorcycle, and yeah its on the big side for a beginner but the price was right so i couldn't pass it up.
i plan on taking a safety course eventually too.

it has rattle can paint job on the tank and side plastics, that will be changing rather quick.

think I'm gonna try and clean it up as much as i can while I'm waiting for carb parts.

I like 4 wheeling a Jeep, but I LOVE riding a bike. Have fun and be safe. You have to learn to read the minds of the drivers around you.

Take a safety course. You get to use their bikes, and when your done you will have the docs for getting your license.

    Congratulations.!
As you said, if it's been sitting a few years the carbs/ jets will need cleaning...is the tank rust free?

    Nice!!

Weather's perfect for that rider course; with that you'll be ready for anything once the carb's good.

    Nice catch!

    Re: First bike!

Tank was pretty clean , he cleaned it out but never got to the carbs ... They were bad. I've never seen so much gunk in them took me a couple days to rebuild them. I still have an issue with the floats sticking tho.

Although it's running rough ( new rubber intake boots haven't came in yet) I've been riding it around in the parking lot across the street and am getting the hang of it. Definetly a lot different than a street bike.
