Yeah, maybe there should be a list of "closed" trails. A place where we can remember trails we have lost to the greenies! Maybe if the list gets long enough people will notice the closures more!

There is a gate on Martinez! Thats where its closed at!

Yep sad to say my most favorite spot is closed I loved going here for lunch and a day out. They taking everything away from us good people instead of making it harder for the vandals to get in.

You can still park at the gate and hike up to the cabins and mine. It's not that far...

Well the luge hasn't been fun in a long time since it became impassible, but the "bypass" might be fun with snow on a sled. Of course you'd die when you flew off the cliff at the end, but at least you'd go out with bugs on your teeth.

where is the gate located for Martinez canyon? Is it just before that narrow canyon where the water wells were. Forgive me as it has been a long time. I recall seeing the 'buried miner' just before you get up to that narrow spot where the big trees are located.
    Thanks

Yes, hiked to the cabin, the ore processing building and explored the mine shafts. Was underground for a few hours exploring.

Nice. How are the buildings looking? How's the ore processing building looking? Last time I was up there, the conveyor bridge that spanned the trail had mostly fallen down so there was lumber partially blocking what used to be the trail, and there were more pieces of the structure's metal roof laying around everywhere than ever before. Just getting worse I imagine.
