The 3.5" Rock Krawler X Factor Plus lift kit is on the way, as is the 2.77 KluneV to go in front of the Atlas II 4.3 I picked up off here a couple of months ago. I still have to get down to AJ to pick it up. Then the body gets set down to see what its going to take to get it to fit. Still have to get the new axles. Then all the fun tedious stuff starts, Body work, paint, wiring, steering, roll cage, bumpers, tire carrier. Still along way to go.

I have added more pictures to the album. The first fit of the V6/700r4. The installed Rock Krawler X factor skid plate. The new axles. The new D44 and lift installed in the front. I will get pictures of the installed rear up in couple of days.

I also added pictures of my '83 Scrambler to the other album I have here as well

IT FITS! I was dancing aroung the shop calling everyone who has been over to help work on this! I posted pictures of the first and second fitting of the old body to the new frame. The body fit between the motor and end of the frame like planned and after cutting out some of the floor came down to within 1 1/2 inches of the frame. I will build the body mount brackets and body mounts to work at that position and rebuild the floor pan to cover it all back up. Now comes the front end, fenders, grill and hood. I'll see what I have to do them to get them to fit.

Looks great! I like the width of the axles as compared to the body.

Re: Started My 1957 CJ-6 build

I didn't think to much about axle width when I decided to change axles. The older bodies are 4 inches narrower(at least that is what I thought but have found out it is the same width) than the new ones so it reallly makes the tires stand out. They look big but are only 35-12.50. Now I will have to make custom flares to cover them up enough to keep law enforcement out of my hair.

Added new pictures to the album of the body work done so far to replace the floor boards, open up the tunel to fit trany, kluneV and t-case. Pictures also of the TJ/LJ body mount pans that have been modified to attach the 57 body to the modifed 2000TJ frame.

Re: Started My 1957 CJ-6 build

Have the TJ/LJ body rails tacked in place on the body and set the body on the frame with 1" lift daystar body mounts and it worked! Have the clearance in the tunel area I needed and all the mounts fit where they should. Test fit front fenders and grill. Use new CJ fender and grill, the longer fenders put the grill in the correct location for the grill mount on the frame. The TJ steering box is not like a CJ and interfers with the CJ grill and radiator. Issue to still deal with.

Posted a few more pictures of the body mounting and the test fit of the fenders and grill.

The link to the album on is is still good just most of the pictures are toast because of the hack attack in September. I will try and rebuild it when I get time.

The latest work was rocker guards and quarter panel guards, put it all together and make sure I don't have to back up and correct any thing before move on. This is what it looks like at this point all assembled.

Now time to take it all apart and finish body work and continue on the things that make it go forward, backward, stop and turn.
