    1998 Grand Cherokee Rock Crawler

$6,000 firm for VJC members this week only... i need to pay a big bill

This is the perfect Grand Cherokee for any type of off roading. Multi purpose built from rock crawling to expedition traveling and the jeep still looks and drives great!!! It does not leak and starts right up. The a/c is ice cold. All power options work including power seats, power windows, power door locks. Has moonroof (is sealed shut and does not work currently). Comes with full size spare.

    1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    53,000 original miles
    Just passed emmisions (no CEL)

    Drivetrain:
Engine: Stock 5.2. Full 3" exhaust
    Tranny: Stock Auto
    T-case: 231 with SYE

    Front axle:
Ford hp44 from a FS Bronco
    4.56 Gears
    Warn Premium hubs
    Warn Shafts
    CTM Joints
    Diff Skid
    Spool

    Rear axle:
    Dynatrac Built 60
    4.56 Gears
    Detroit Locker
    Disk Brakes

    Suspension:
    About 5.5" of total lift

    Front:
Custom lengthened radius arms with summit flex joints at the frame end
Tracbar Conversion (no more TRE at the frame side)
    Rancho RS 9000 Shocks
    Bump Stops
    Center Limiting Strap

    Rear:
    Custom Triangulated 4 Link Rear
    Bilstein 5100 Shocks

    Tires/wheels:
    37x12.5x17 mud tires (bfg km2)
17 x 9 Black Rock Viper aluminum wheels

    Other Stuff:
    Cobra Cb
AC works well. Just replaced the accumulator
    Anti-rock swaybars up front
    ORGS Super nerf rocker protection
New joints in the steering, new tracbar, new drag link, New BDS coils up front,
    Hydro Assist

    Kevins Offroad Bucket seats
ARB front bumper with M8000 winch (cable)
    Custom rear bumper (high clearance)
JBL GTI component speakers up front, Pioneer CD/MP3 deck

    The Bad:

As with all jeeps that go out and are used for off roading this jeep does have a couple of small things wrong with it. Most of these items are small

    Couple dings and dents
    rear speakers not working
need new battery tray or new batter strap down cable
headliner is sagging a little bit
probably a couple more little things

here are a couple of pictures

Nice rig for sure, have been thinking about one as a DD, but could wheel on the weekends, but not getting rid of my wrangler. Would have to sell some stuff to consider buying it.

I might be willing to trade my wrangler. 1999 roll cage. Needs a few things finished but I have all the parts just no time.

Re: 1998 Grand Cherokee Rock Crawler

I would think twice before I gave up that well built ZJ for a Wrangler. No comparison in the ride and the ZJ will go anywhere the Wrangler will with more comfort. I tried a 2010 Unlimited Rubicon and built it up pretty good. My wife didn't like it at all and I didn't like it for 50+ mile trips. Luckly, she wouldn't let me sell the ZJ, so I traded the JKU and went back to the ZJ for the 3.5 and under trails. (it will do the 4.0 trails, but my juggy is more fun on them) The Wrangler sure has a great following of satisfied people and maybe you will be one of them, but I'll bet you will miss the creature comforts and performance of yopur ZJ. Good luck.
