He was pretty decently clean...had a few scratches on his snout. He followed along and ran thru the washes and trees and everything else and even when told to "go home dog" he never did. Finally about 10 miles in we started giving him good and water. He would sti
op and chill when we stopped...and if he didnt realize we stopped came back. He slept with us at camp and even defended camp from sometbin out about 75 yards from camp. Was rarin to go the next morning too...and headed out in front like he knew wi h way to go to head home...I took him to get checked for a chip but no go...we have another vet appnt this week for shots n stuff to license him...

Wow, it had to be fate that the dog and the two of you were at same place at the same time. What are the odds of that? Great story with a fantastic ending! He now has what looks like a great home and a pack for life. Thanks for sharing, and cudos for being such a good dog-person and taking care of Epic Fred.

Great write up. Shared the link with my gf who manages a pet hospital & she reposted on Facebook. The dog is definitely a keeper. Sometimes fate brings people together when you least expect it. Once I get the lift on the ZJ she told me should plan an outing along that trail. Thanks for sharing.
