Double cardan shaft, lengthen or buy new?

I'm going to be calling around getting some prices and professional opinions tomorrow, but i'm anxious. So i'll ask your opinions.

I have an 87 xj. has a 4.o. I swapped in an AX15, an np231 with AA SYE and a chrysler 8.25. the jeep has about 6" of lift. rusty's long arm up front and deaver jeepspeed race springs with RE boomerang shackles out back. it's sitting on 305/70/17 mtrs.

If I had an aw4 auto I would be able to use a front shaft in the rear, but since I have a stick it's too short. I have a front XJ shaft that is too short, and the joints in it need to be replaced. Do you think it would be worth having this one rebuilt and lengthened or just buy new?

I'm also looking for suggestions on shops to contact. I have a list to call, but would love to hear your experience with them. Who do you think offers the best value? I'm not looking for "cheap" just looking for the best work at the best rate.

Phoenix Rack and Axle. I have had great service from Steve over there. Right now I have my front driveshaft being worked on by them. I have nothing against other driveshaft shops... But the customer service, price, and quality of their product will make me a life long client.

I suggest that you rebuild what you have.
