    1982 Warn 8274 rebuild

OK...I got it all torn down. The polishing to the clutch assembly, upperhalf of case, as drum support is done. The lower case, drum support, and brake assembly are at powdercoat, and my new seals and solenoid cover sticker are in the mail. Here are some pics I took when I was tearing it down. Some other fellas have already done a killer write up on this. Just thought I would post something up. I paid $330.00 for this winch and it looks like it was only used maybe a couple of times. The inside was phenominal and the outside was pretty good too. I'll post more pics and talk in some more detail when I start to re-assemble.

you didn't do the work on the winch yourself did you? I didn't think you got your hands dirty

did you get the motor swap done in your jeep yet?

I had to have the shaft removed from the lower case. I attempted the polishing, but couldnt get it the way I wanted it, so I decided to let somebody who does it for a living have a crack at it. Turned out good. Other then that, yes. Peck and I started the basics in the shop.

Dean. We decided to stick with the 4.2. Joe at AO checked everything out on it and said its in tip-top. We did EFI, Borla header, aluminum valve cover, and Airaid intake. I think he's getting the exhaust done right now.
