    I am going to open this up for additions. I will delete ANY posts that get off topic, and even a lot that stay on topic. I will, however, add the abbreviations to the top of the list.

    No:PITA, WT F, GTF O, FPOS, or other similar suggestions please.

    Re: Common abbreviations you will see here

    Thanks for the list, very helpful.
    Nearly impossible to make a list like this without errors.

    FSJ/SJ: Started in 1963 not 1953 unless your would count the Willys Wagon and Willys Pickup, then started in 1947.

    Truthfully I don't know the J designation for the Willys Pickups and Wagons. Anyone, Bueler?

    I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

    Help please. I am familiar with most of the Jeep model designations but I noticed in a run thread seeing the vehicles described ad TJUR and XJUR and I think TJR. What is the UR and R? If I had to guess I would say Unlimited Rubicon and Rubicon? But Google failed on the TJUR and XJUR search. Thanks.

    You are correct.

    TJR = TJ Rubicon
    TJU = TJ Unlimited (official designation) = LJ (unofficial designation)
    TJUR = TJ Unlimited Rubicon
    XJUR = XJ Unlimited Rubicon
