    Poly bushing lubrication

Ok, after days of searching and about 14 different thoughts on the correct lubrication for poly bushings....I'm still lost!

what is considered the most effective lubricant for poly bushings?

    Graphite....
    Lithium Grease.....
    Standard wheelbearing grease......
    Lucas "Red and Tacky".........
    Vaseline.......
    Duck butter.......
    Houtus butter......
    whale snot......

The choices are endless and there doesn't seam to be a "Best Practice" out there....

    Any help would be great!

I have always used this stuff. It is super sticky and doesnt wear off very well like grease does. Its good stuff

But if you use grease go with a synthetic wheel bearing grease

Daystar is here in Phoenix, check their website or give them a call, they recommend a special lube...

Crevice oil. Works well with plastics, silicone, glass, even some natural items. Great for joints too. Knuckles, dipsticks, teeth, even whole arms, but beware of getting a whole arm done in one shot. Those canisters are more commonly used in bulk, and might not be for the average man. If that is the only source available, might want to be a "do-it-yourselfer", might keep contaminates from entering your own system, which could cause all kinds of problems ranging from sticky valves, over heating, internal clogging of vital parts, leakage of other fluids, even catastophic failure. And if your regular source of fluids is contaminated because you used the bulk applicator, it could lead to premature wear on your heads, tailpipe, and could cause the dreaded "divorced" type separation you dread. VERY costly for a quick lube job in the long run if done incorrectly or blatantly disreguarding the owners manual for proper use of non-approved fluids. Myself, I would rather do it by hand if no other source than the approved fluids were available directly from your authorized dealer.

Windex! Eliminates the squeak. No lube at all otherwise. It collects the contaminents and holds them there. I am running all poly joints on the buggy with no problems yet! 45K on my old Rubi and most was without lube as well.

I replaced the stock front CA bushings on my Rubi LJ with Daystar's poly bushing kit. It came with what they refer to as 'lubrithane'. Starts out slick but ends up real sticky and to date I have no squeaks.
