A couple of weeks back I slipped on a rock up at Smiley Rock and clipped off the tip of aluminum valve stem for a TPMS sensor. Fortunately it didnít damage the valve, but unfortunately the top was now uneven and the threads were damaged, so airing up and checking the pressure was exciting.
A new sensor is $30+installation, but Airpark sold me take-offs for $10.
I purchase all of my tires at Discount Tire and even though I still had my stock tire they installed the take-off stem and balanced the tire for free!
Hereís what the sensor looks like. The valve stem is easily removed from the sensor by sliding up the rubber washer.
