Also known as the Arizona State Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs (ASA4WDC) Jamboree site, the Florence Junction area offers a multitude of trails in varying degrees of difficulty. The variety of available trails is one reason the ASA4WDC has its annual Jamboree there.

There are trails for beginners in relatively stock vehicles like <a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=31 target=mainpage>Foothills </a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=35 target=mainpage>Martinez Cabin</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=22 target=mainpage>Myers (Ajax) Loop</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=21 target=mainpage>Pictograph Wash</a>, and<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=36 target=mainpage>Sunset point</a>.

There are also a variety of Moderate trails like <a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=7 target=mainpage>Ajax (Lower)</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=48 target=mainpage>Box Canyon</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=34 target=mainpage>Coke Ovens</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=29 target=mainpage>Flat Tire Canyon</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=20 target=mainpage>Jack Handle</a>, and<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=37 target=mainpage>Orville's Loop</a>.

Then, of course, there are the Extreme trails like<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=14 target=mainpage>Ajax (Upper)</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=32 target=mainpage>Axle Alley</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=33 target=mainpage>Highway To Hell</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=30 target=mainpage>Jaw Breaker</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=19 target=mainpage>Martinez Canyon</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=5 target=mainpage>Woodpecker (Lower)</a>, and<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=6 target=mainpage>Woodpecker (Upper)</a>.

In addition to the trails named above, there a alot of unnamed trails, most of which are old mining roads. Please stay on existing trails and remember to TREAD LIGHTLY!

I took my old XJ to U-Haul last year and they charged $35 , and they had it
done in less than an hour with a coast to coast guarantee . They had to pull
a lot of the back of the Jeep apart to do it so I let them have the hassle .
It worked great and I never had a problem with it . TJ's might be less money

Any information on the difficulty of installing a trailer wiring
harness on a 1997 Wrangler with a soft top? I've heard that it may
just a plug and run type of install...is this true?

Also, any good places to get an inexpensive one?

Please pass this along to anyone else who is interested in the outdoors and
keeping it open!

ACTION ALERT
Congressman Raul Grijalva will hold a press conference to publicly announce
his congressonal bill and support for aTumacacori Wilderness. The press
conference will be held Saturday, January 10th, 2004, at 10:00 am, approx.
40 miles south of Tucson in Tubac, AZ.

To get there, take I-19 south to exit # 34, turn right and then left on the
West Frontage Road, go south about 2 1/4 miles where the road will abruptly
end. The press conference will be held at the end of the road, please see
attached map.
http://www.house.gov/grijalva/

We need you to come out and protest this attempted theft and closure of our
public lands by the Congressman Grijalva and his elitist and radical
environmental organizations.
This action would essentially close over 84,000 acres (130 Sq Miles) to
multiple uses such as motorize camping and recreation, ranching, hunting,
exploring and prospecting. Over 40 roads and jeep trails will be closed
under his plan.
http://www.skyislandalliance.org/tum...estatement.htm

We need you to help send Congressman Grijalva a resounding message stating -
no more wilderness!

Everyone, Please help get the word out and forward this information.

On the YJ the wiring to the tail lights is inside the Jeep on the
Drivers side. Right inside the top lip of the body. You should be able
to pull back the carpet and look at it from the back seat. I just
spliced a plug there and run a short patch wire to the trailer when
needed. I can get pictures if you are interested.

Well, Joe, since you drug me into this ;>) I guess I have to say
something.

Hi Jan.....did you know that the only site you have to bookmark is the
one you already have? http://www.azjvc.org

From the AZVJC.org web site, you can click on the BBS(NEW!) link on the
left side of the page and you never even leave the AZVJC site, but yet
you can see everything on the BBS too, if you want to. I kind of view
it like a super Walmart store....everything at one single location.
(and the same location you have always gone to)

If the above doesn't work for you, then follow Joe's advice and vote no
on the poll about the BBS.

Hi Jan,

Gosh... I guess I should be flattered.... well known eh?
Stu Olson is well known... I think I'm in the noise compared to him.

Regardless, I hope you really don't feel you must go to the bbs site. I
really think the data on the bbs is a subset of what is coming to the
yahoo-groups account, so I doubt you are missing anything by skipping
the bbs (well... okay... you'll miss the sandbox, but not much else
<grin>).

I'd highly recommend you vote no on the poll if you feel the bbs is a
unilateral decision which is nothing more than an inconvenience. You
will likely not have an easier time to kill the idea than right now
while it is up for a vote.

Kind Regards,

Joe

I'm with you, Bob. This format is very user friendly, provides
"immediate"
response for those who want it, and still has the option of scanning the

message board if you don't want to be inundated with e-mails. I also
think
the person/people who put together the AZVJC website did an excellent
job. It's easy to use, and the trip posting section cannot be beat.
Best
of all, if I wanted to know what's going on with the AZVJC I clicked on
one
bookmark and all the info was at hand. Now, because of one well-known
person's unilateral decision, I've got to waste time looking at two
sites
to see if I've got all the news? Ugh! My guess is one site or the
other
will probably fade away, but in the meantime, I think it's a pain in the

butt.

I think the new format is the natural progression of the AZVJC.
We've gone from very primitive in the first year,(A handful of you
will remember cutting and pasting names to group emails) and then
moved to E-groups which was a huge improvement and then onto
Yahoogroups when they acquired e-groups. We've really outgrown
Yahoogroups so I think its great that Joe has gone ahead and setup
the new forum. I hope that everyone takes the time to learn the
format. In the end it is much easier for all of us if we give it a
chance.

It's much easier for me to keep up with the new BBS. I miss the
Jeepin' in AZ but I'm having a blast here in Montana.

BTW, I think both of you are infamous

Yes...some are getting long at the cheaper stations. I paid 2 cents a
gallon more at the 7-11 and didn't have to wait 6 deep like at the
Safeway.

My neighbor has this Jeep and complained of it running rough and hot (electric fan was not kicking on) but he would not make time for me to check it out. It finally stalled and got a bad connection on the battery and got towed home. I got it started again and it gags and runs like a carbed vehicle with the choke closed. Real rich and gassy out the exhaust. I checked from the distributer to the plugs all seem ok. new egr no diff. sealed a couple vacuum leaks no change. cleaned the throttle body no change. seems to be good pressure at the fuel rail. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks...Jeff...

It's just a rumor. Don't rush out and get gas.

Ain't nothing wrong with having two places to read and post. Its
just like bouncing back and forth between the JU BBS and the AZVJC
yahoo-groups. You usually run out of new information at one site and
there's a fresh site to explore. I have no problem with two AZVJC
message post sites.
I'm glad Joe finally did something as it seems like it was never
going to happen.
IMO,
Larry

Wow, that bites. I remember the last crunch just before I moved. At
least there are three refineries near Billings, MT to keep the fuel
flowing. Hang in there...

HOAX

Funny my neighbor knocked on my door told me the guy across the street has a
friend that works for the pipeline company and said this break was bad. Even
worse then the break before. He also said the governor was going to delay
the release of the information till after 10 or possibly for the news in the
morning. So off I went to the gas station. Well it was not much of a line
but it was a line and I started to think the valley was going to panic. I
got bach home just in time for the end of the news cast to say it was a
false rumor. Oh well I got a full tank of gas.
