Dude...you may be in some serious luck. I ordered a set of custom
built backspaced wheels for my rig right before it got wiped out.
They were just delivered on friday. They are 15x10's though. I'll let
em go dirt cheap if you want them. They are still in boxes. Shoot me
an email offlist....badazxj@h... if you want to check them
out.

Thanks,

The "Rescue" was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. While it may look like a Wrangler, I think it's about the size of an H2...with stock 37's. I saw another pic of it with someone standing next to it, and it looked BIG. I'll try to find and post that pic.
Looks promising to me. Here's a link. Click on "Jeep Rescue" on the left side of the page.

Jeep Rescue

An obvious, envious nod to the hot Hummer H2, the Rescue concept signals Jeep's intention to produce a Wrangler-based SUV in coming years. Imagined as the "ultimate search and rescue vehicle," the Jeep features a fold-down windshield and backglass, removable doors and sliding roof panels -- one made of canvas -- that let the Rescue run almost totally open to the elements. It's powered by a Cummins diesel engine, with 37-inch tires and a full array of the latest rescue gear, including infrared search cameras, a satellite phone and cameras under the chassis.

Subject: [TR] Florence Junction Area - Sunday, January 25, 2004

Hello All,John Tallant is leading a Florence Junction Area trail run on Sunday, January 25, 2004.<br><br>When: 10:00 AM
Where: Parking area next to flagpole, where Cottonwood Canyon road turns off from main highway
Rating: 2.0+
Length: All day
CB Channel: 5

I will meet anyone who wants to run any of the major trails in the area. Nothing over 4.0. Most likely Woodpecker, Ajax,Jackhandle, and Martinez Canyon. But we can let the group decide on which trails we run and how long we stay out. I'm just looking to wheel with others, instead of by myself.

Also known as the Arizona State Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs (ASA4WDC) Jamboree site, the Florence Junction area offers a multitude of trails in varying degrees of difficulty. The variety of available trails is one reason the ASA4WDC has its annual Jamboree there.

There are trails for beginners in relatively stock vehicles like <a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=31 target=mainpage>Foothills </a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=35 target=mainpage>Martinez Cabin</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=22 target=mainpage>Myers (Ajax) Loop</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=21 target=mainpage>Pictograph Wash</a>, and<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=36 target=mainpage>Sunset point</a>.

There are also a variety of Moderate trails like <a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=7 target=mainpage>Ajax (Lower)</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=48 target=mainpage>Box Canyon</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=34 target=mainpage>Coke Ovens</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=29 target=mainpage>Flat Tire Canyon</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=20 target=mainpage>Jack Handle</a>, and<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=37 target=mainpage>Orville's Loop</a>.

Then, of course, there are the Extreme trails like<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=14 target=mainpage>Ajax (Upper)</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=32 target=mainpage>Axle Alley</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=33 target=mainpage>Highway To Hell</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=30 target=mainpage>Jaw Breaker</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=19 target=mainpage>Martinez Canyon</a>,<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=5 target=mainpage>Woodpecker (Lower)</a>, and<a href=http://www.azvjc.org/trails/view.asp?T=6 target=mainpage>Woodpecker (Upper)</a>.

In addition to the trails named above, there a alot of unnamed trails, most of which are old mining roads. Please stay on existing trails and remember to TREAD LIGHTLY!

I put a new RE 3.5" lift on my 01 tj. I started to hear some minor
noise so I decided to check to make sure everything was tight. I
inspected the control arms and noticed that the bushings (the rubber
ones that mount to the frame)on three of the control arms are
shifting to one side. this is causing the control arm to rub against
the mounting bracket medal to medal.

One of my neighbors has the same lift so we took a look at his and
one of his rear ones is doing the same thing. My lift is 3 months old
and his is two months old.

I installed mine myself and his was installed at 4 wheelers. Anyone
have any idea what the problem could be?? This can't be normal. I am
pretty sure 4 wheelers will replace the arms but I don't want to have
the same problem.

I heard that RE got a bad batch of bushings a while back, but that was
like 9 months ago. I don't know if that is your problem, but after just
a couple of months that shouldn't be happening. Mine aren't doing that,
and mine has been in since May.

Just thinking out loud here.....are the axle centered properly under the
vehicle. It would seem that if they sit a bit off to one side, it might
cause some eventual shift?

Is the actual rubber part coming out of the metal sleeve....or has the
metal sleeve actually shifted out of the end of the control arm?

Since the bushings are designed to be replaced in an RE arm, the arms
are most likely not bad (unless there has been some quality control
issue). I have had bad bushings before. Are these lower or upper arms?

one of his rear ones is doing the same thing. My lift is 3 months old
and his is two months old.

I installed mine myself and his was installed at 4 wheelers. Anyone
have any idea what the problem could be?? This can't be normal. I am
pretty sure 4 wheelers will replace the arms but I don't want to have
the same problem.
