That wouldn't be a bad idea at all, perhaps we should bring extra trash
bags so we can help "keep up" with everything going on on the trails. I
can't think one any trails that couldn't look better especially in the
White tank and Table Mesa areas.

Maybe we should make cleaning up the trail(s) a part of every
"mission"? That is, bring along trash bags and pick up trash along the
trails. ?

**** you guys..............
where the **** you been?
i have been picking up others trash along the trail since day one. sometimes
i just don't feel like picking it up and walk on. i do MY part and am not
ashamed of any of my actions out on the trail. i believe i would be a good
candidate for one to be a leader in the trail/land preservation. being a land
surveyor.....i totally am aware of the value of land be it private or public.

these trails i run are "approved blm" trails. some mechanical mishaps are
bouind to occur on these extreme trails. you know it and so does blm. they are
predators just waiting for the kill on land closure. it is inevitable...trust
me. get out and enjoy these runs while they are still open............wheel with
confidence and pride. do what you think is right and you will be able to
sleep at night.

lets have fun and get it ONNNNNNNNNNNN

Hello All,
Rob Bolin lead a trail run Sunday, January 4, 2004 across Coves of Saguaro Lake

Well everything went almost as planned. We couldn't have gotten a more beautifull day for wheelin, Trails were moist so dust was very minimal, Tim, Ruben,Nathan,Purple were there and ready to go even before My brother Jon & I got there and we were right on time. Great bunch of people w/trail ready rigs(that was nice for a change). Jason meet up with us shortly on the trail. We started out just playing around on the hillclimbs and then proceded to the first cove, everyone made it up the first cove hillclimb except for Tim and Son needing a little help w/ a strap to keep him from sliding into the lake, but they made it! after that little fiasco It was Lunch time.LOL after Lunch everyone kind of headed off to do their own thing(like planned). My brother and I proceded to the second cove and then to check out 4 peaks and catch some of AZ's finest scenery.Upon one of the enticing hills to 4 peaks Jon Ripped a sidewall in his front right tire , so we changed it out but his spare wasn't very in very good shape so we cut the 4 peaks run short and headed for home. so for a final report. No broken parts.no injuries, and no animals were harmed LOL.We also picked up a lot of trash on the way. I must say that the coves and coresponding trails need a cleanup pretty bad. Rob Bolin sr. Subject: [TR] Trip Report - Sunflower Mine Loop - Saturday, January 3, 2004

Hello All,
Kit Carson lead a trail run Saturday, January 3, 2004 across Sunflower Mine Loop

Wow, 33 Jeeps showed up at Beeline and Shea for the trail. This was a lot more than Jim and I had expected. It rained and hailed and was muddy as hell. But we still had fun.

At the first waterfall, Gary (our new guy) in a stock XJ decided to turn around since he had just purchased the Jeep the day before. Ken followed Gary back to the bridge in his blue Ruby and was going to rejoin us when he got Gary out safe. Unfortunately, Gary trashed a tire (brand new ones!), so Ken decided to follow him out all the way since Gary now had no spare. Thanks, Ken for taking care of Gary for us and sacrificing your trip. That was above and beyond.

Well, we lost Ken and Gary, but we picked up another Jeep and an older full size Bronco who followed us out.

At the next waterfall, a Grand Cherokee lost a u-joint (I-think) and lost his front wheel drive. Dave in his “Wile E” rig graciously pulled him up the hill and through all the thick mud in the flexi areas on the way out. Thanks, Dave.

Just before hitting the old 87 road on the way out, we came across two stranded folks in an S-10 who had gotten stuck in a ditch with all the mud. David, in the maroon Ruby, helped him out and on his way. Thanks, David.

So, we had a few mishaps and it was very cold, but it turned out to be a pretty successful trip considering the number of Jeeps, mud, rain and hail…

I think next time we’ll break this up into two trips!

Thanks to Kevin for gunning, and thanks to all who helped out. Also, thanks to all of you for showing up.

Kit

Pictures coming soon.
Most of us already do that! Where have you been? Most of us take our
wheelin seriously enough to want it to continue, and try and leave the
trails at least as clean as we found them if not cleaner. Its the thrash
dumping, fluid leaking (and fire starting) irresponsible wanna be abusive
wheelers that we all clean up after. That's why the trip report started such
an uproar, and I'm surprised that it hasn't gotten more of an uproar. Not to

in the last few years as to the seriousness of our actions as they are being
used against us. I don't wish to preach, but do want those responsible to
atleast stand up and admit that their actions as they are causing major

Actually I am a relatively new member of the group and I just don't
trust my 1994 Wrangler enough yet to take it out on a rated trail. =/

chill tim..the storm is clearing

there was no abusive action against the environment or wheelin industry taken
on AA sat. my report was played-up for reading enjoyment. lots of gas was
accidentally spilled out an almost vertical rig with a faulty gas cap...and was
ignited to try and burn it off so that the last rig could attempt to get out
before dark after a long day. i was not sure if lighting it was a good idea or
not but i went along with it hoping i would get out without torching myself
along the way.

party ONNNNNNNNN

In Iceland, a stack of rocks is called a varda. Vardas were directional
markers in the time before roads, and now mark shire/property
boundaries. Whenever you pass a varda in Iceland, you MUST throw a rock
onto it or you will be cursed with seven years of bad luck.

Yep, replaced my pump about 4 months ago. Ended up getting raped by
the dealer($120ish). No one else stocks the correct part... at least
back at that time. Chrysler changed the design in 2000.

Here someone has documented our pain....

there are piles of rocks stacked all over cal,nev and az among others i
assume representing mine claim markers. i have looked in many to find an old prince
albert tin with the old claim papers dated early 1900's...........mostly in
death valley when i was a pup in the 60's. and the miners had to produce a
minimum $100 work a year to keep the claim active. times are changin and the
greenies have their victory in sight

I just returned from a roadtrip to san fran and a couple of days after I got back the check engine light came on. The jeep ran fine all the way too and from san fran and ran fine when the check engine light came on. I checked a couple of the sensors and added some oil. Still no luck with the light. So then I diconnected the battery and let the computer reset itself. After I got it all back together I started it back up and no check engine light.....should I assume everything is ok?

I would call it good. unless it comes back on, I've heard of vehicles that when they hit a sertain mileage the check light comes on(not sure about zj's) so you can take it to the dealership and give them more money.Rob B
