    Project Akeless

Here it goes. I have been talking and thinking (Adam can contest to this because he has been a idea punching bag for me) about what I wanted to do with CJ for over a year. So enough is enough. Here is the plan for now thing will prob. change.

Front full width Chevy D44 with RCV axles 4.10 (for now) and a detroit Ballistic diff cover
Sky Manufacturing raised high steer arms
SOA using RE 1.5 6 leaf SOA Springs and Poison Spyder full width kit
Rear Scout D44 with Yukon axles 4.56 and a Detroit or spool with truss for 4-link and Bluetorch Fab diff cover (with truss tab) custom hydro asist
4-link rear suspension using FOA coilovers 90% of brackets are going to be custom done to fit the frame and truss
Mastercraft Rubicon with matching rear bench
    Custom Cage
Truck bed liner on inside of tube
Custom Tube fenders, and front winch bumper
    40x13.50 Goodyear MTRs
    RCI fuel cell
Mild AMC 360 with TBI EFI
Built D300 with 32 spline f/r output shafts and 4:1 Lowmax kit
other odds and ends (will post when they come up.

This will prob. be a slow build so if you are following please hang in there. I will post some before pics when I get home tonight.

got these axles complete for free but if you know somebody that has some full width they would like to donate for the same let me know. One nice thing is I will be able to upgrade at a later date if I want with minimal reupdating.

    Re: Project Akeless

Here are some before pics and some of the parts that I have started to gather.

    Springs and full width kit

Knuckle that has been redrilled (passenger side is will be done soon)

    Ground Inner C's

My costom center consule, the only thing I really need to do to finish is to skin it and paint it.

Tube Fenders lines that you see are the cut lines I will then bend some 1.5" tubing to add some strength.

    Re: Project Akeless

Ok I was able to order some parts in the last week and here they are. I ordered a pair of Ballistic Joints from Ballistic Fab. The joints came unassembled the quality of these joints is great. Here are some pics of the unassembled joints.

and one of an assembled joint

I am going to be using these as my shackle mount on the front leafs. Like this

This should help in taking some of the stress out of the springs as the front axle articulates.

I also had these laser cut, and CNC bent for the front bumper.

I am going to have to make some mods to them (my error at design but should be easy). I also had a change in plans thanks to Adam. I am going to be running a 3/4 D44 with a 14 bolt in the rear. And now prob. going to be running 39.5 Iroks instead of 37's.

Need some lateral triangulation. top and back (b to c) look great but might wanna X behind the seats or at least a harness bar with triangulation to the B pillar. and door bars?
