Can anyone recommend a quality/trustworthy body shop?

I had a small run in with a piece of concrete in the wife's Honda Odyssey, which I need to get repaired. I plan to get a few estimates but thought I'd check here to see if anyone has had body work done and can recommend the shop they used.

I'm checking with my insurance company for shops they recommend (damage is minor and I likely won't submit a claim). I've also sent a PM to xjstocker who apparently works at a body shop but haven't heard from anyone who has used that shop.

Any and all info/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Re: Can anyone recommend a quality/trustworthy body shop?

I had to have some minor work done on my Honda Civic several times, out of 2 body shops and 2 dealerships the only ones that did a decent job was the dealership on Broadway and Dobson. The dealership is gone now, but their body shop is still there. The other dealership and 2 body shops had to try at least twice if not 3 times, just to put on a plastic bumper cover correctly. Anyway, Honda Cars of Mesa was what they were called, may have changed names with their move, but like I said, they were the only ones that could get it done right the first time. They may cost a little more, but if you have to rent a car while yours is in the shop, its cheaper in the long run.

My ex-bro-in-law has been a car painter for years. Good, honest guy with a team that he put together to support him. I believe his shop is in Mesa/East Valley. PM me if you want his cell number, and I will give him a heads up that you are calling... He said they are a little slow right now, so he might be able to get it done in a hurry, too.

I had some very minor work done at Gilbert Collision which is on Stapley, between Guadalupe and Elliot. It was very minor work. They replaced a tail light and some marks in my paint when an employee from Discount Tire underestimated the weight of a trailer tire and didn't quite get the tire in the bed of my truck...but instead through it into the back corner of my truck. lol

    Thanks, guys.

I'll check into Honda Cars of Mesa.
    Jason- PM sent.
Mike, how was the service? I looked up Gilbert Collision on BBB of AZ and they've had one complaint which is marked resolved.

    Kustom Koachworks

    www.kustomkoachworks.com

Bought some Quads from the owner a few years ago, great guy. Have seen the work they do and some of the customs, incredible. They did some estimate work for me but it was a total so the work was never done, but like I said, I have seen work they did and have see the shops.

    Hey Matt,

Sorry to hear of the need, but I have done business with the Chandler Auto Body shop on Arizona, just south of Warner. "We" have had a couple of jobs done with them and they have done a terrific job. After 5 years, the paint still matches on both cars and no complaints from me.

    Good luck.

I've had New Image in Tempe do work for me a couple times and it always came out perfect. I will also give the body shop at Honda cars of Mesa a thumbs up as well. Used to hang out with one of the guys that works there back in my custom honda days. They do good work. The dealership is now SanTan honda down in south Gilbert.

Andrew - I saw that post this morning but that is a bit far for me.

Jason- I called him but he said he only does work for dealerships - thanks, though.

I'll check into the other places mentioned - thanks again!

There's my shop... Actually, it's not mine, but I'm one of the repair techs there. It's The Paint and Body Factory, on Gilbert Rd and Chandler Blvd.

Thanks guys - being in Gilbert, I'm trying to avoid driving too far for estimates. I'll check into your place, Mobius, and keep Ric's in reserve in case I strike out down here.

WOW! What a dip*****. Strange since I talked to him about it earlier. Oh well, if they dont want the biz, I wouldnt go there anyway. ...no wonder they are slow!

I'm thinking Mobius is the shop to hit up. That way you've got a guy on the inside who can keep an eye our for ya. Working with members gives great accountability. Not to mention if they screw it up we can all flame him to no end! Kidding of course...
