    help with 1984 cherokee (wagoneer)

i have a 84 cherokee, it was made as the wagoneer that year. 2.8ltr eng
my friend has rebuilt into a 3.1. everything is new, and i had the carb rebuilt after it wanted to stall when driving, also died when stopped in drive. i fixed a broken electrical connector to the electronic choke which fixed the problem for a while. now the same problem is back, and the previous problems are not the cause. it will run good for the first 5-10 min and then on the freeway will start jerking violently like it wants to stall, and yes agian it will stall at lights. i discovered that if i throw it in neutral and gun it while driving, it will start running agian for a time. does anyone have any ideas? any help will do. thank you in advance.

Is the fuel pump performing as it should ?
When was the last time the fuel filter was changed ?
Was the carb rejetted to compensate for the over sized bore of the cylinders?
All vac. lines in good shape ?

Just a few things to check..
