    Mini Rock Buggy?

    Ridge Runner RTX800. It's a little pricey, but pretty neat.

    Cool? Sure!

    But I think it would be way more FUN to build one yourself!

    Even if I had that kind of scratch to throw around on a Toy I think I would buy parts for my Jeep first!

    I don't know for sure, but the big yellow NO and the circle/slash symbol would imply the trail is closed Not exactly the picture I would have on the site I am trying to sell something on.

    Exactly. Those marked areas are off limits to OHV use. The trails in Moab are often rerouted for a bit to let the area rejuvenate.

    Exactly! No wonder people are always bashing on the offroading community. Guess they don't subscribe to the "Tread Lightly" program. The pics of the elk hunt show them off trails too. Gives nice ammo to the treehuggers. Would be fun if it came in 4WD, though.

    Not to detract from the seriousness of treading lightly and staying on designated (open) trails, but the comment about dyslexic is pretty funny.

    Hey, my wife has Dyslexia!!!!!!! Thank goodness for that, she thought she was saying no when I asked her to marry me, but instead said yes....

    I can't imagine that they would paint it on the rocks that a trail is closed, might just add to the eco-nuts ammunition. Then again I have yet to visit there so maybe it is the best option...

    Chris;
    That's exactly what they do at Moab. Most of the trails are marked with paint to guide your way as well. "Golden Spike" has painted spikes on the rocks every so often to guide you.

    I've heard the defense 'no' meant 'yes' doesn't actually stand up in court.

    Re: Mini Rock Buggy?

    Let me preempt this with the statement that this is information I have received from a person that has been in Moab and developed a fair amount of the trails up there.

    I just got back from Moab about 3 months ago and say those signs all over the place. I talked to our guide about them and he stated that although most of them are posted by the BLM, some of them are from the eco-nuts (I am using this term because they are not legally doing this) trying to limit trail use. Most of the time the BLM will try to put up 2 communication devices (i.e. sign and spray paint) showing parts of the trails are closed. The eco-nuts will emulate the BLM with the spray paint but not the sign. Unfortunately there it is difficult to ascertain which parts are closed because sometimes the BLM only marks it with paint. I am not sticking up for the picture Eric posted but there are some places the BLM hasnít closed that are marked as closed. This is especially true on the Golden Spike - Poison Spider - Gold Bar Rim combo trail.

    Again, I want to repeat that this is information I received from a guide in Moab that has been there for many years and I know is very active with the Red Rock 4-Wheelers and fighting for trail and offroad conservation.

    Has anyone questioned the Ridgerunner people on this matter? I have sent off a couple of the questionable pictures to their email address to see what they say about it.
