I suspect sometime in the next week, each of our display styles will have a new banner screen with the Jeeps of three of our members.

I'd like to thank everyone for their submissions to the contest and I suspect we'll do this again in a year or two... I think it's kind of fun having the banner show actual members rigs.

PS... as promised... My Scrambler did not make the final cut :)

HER DIARY:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it.

Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it.

On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say, "I love you, too".

When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV.

He continued to seem distant and absent.

Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. To my surprise, he responded to my caress, and we made love. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else.

He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

HIS DIARY:

Boat wouldn't start, can't figure it out, at least I got laid.

I took over 1400 photos on the trip but only loaded just under 500 of them on Photo Bucket. Here is a link to the ones I put on my Bucket.

http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/j...010/?start=all

I just returned from a road trip that took me from Salt Lake City Utah to Anchorage Alaska. We ended up rushing the road trip so we would have more time in Alaska. . The original plan was to sight see more along the way but old habits of being an over the road driver for over 26+ years are hard to stop.

After I flew into SLC Utah we finished with the final preparations for the trip and hit the road at 18:30 hrs on Wednesday Sept 1st. We drove north thru Idaho on I-15 and entered Canada as we exited from Montana also on I-15. From there we ran north through Calgary and on into Edmonton before turning west to head towards Fort St John for our first stop. We arrived in Ft St John at 19:30 hrs the next day. This first leg was 1486 miles and took us 25 hours of drive time stopping for fuel only. It was time for a motel and a good night’s sleep.

We left out of Fort ST John on Friday morning at 07:30 and continued west into some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. The plan was to drive to White Horse and get a room for another split in the trip. That plan again did not work out. By the time we stopped and looked at a few places along the way it put us into White Horse well after dark thirty and they rolled up the sidewalks. We found a gas station that worked off of credit cards still even though they were closed and fueled up and continued on into the night. When we hit Fort Nelson I think it was we again found another station that worked after hours and fueled up to continue the trip.

I drove another full night and that put us entering Alaska right about sunrise where I was ready for a long over due driver change. The last 120 miles of the Alcan Highway in the Yukon is not much better than the back way to Crown King. Truthfully it is better than that but not by much!! We arrived in Anchorage on Saturday at 14:30 hours after the 2nd leg (1567 miles) of the trip again non stop.

All in all……we ran 120 miles of crappy roads, 48 miles of dirt roads and about 200 miles of what Canada calls pavement but it is nothing more than an oiled gravel road.

Total miles 3053 in 56 hours and one layover in a motel.

P.S. There’re some pretty nice places to stop and see if you ever drive the road. Stone Mountain area, Lizard Hot Springs and everywhere south of Tok Alaska were some of my favorites.

Looking out my side mirror near Calgary, Morning Sunrise.
