I've looked at many threads related to my problem with the starter making a nasty noise, but it's always done it as long as I can remember. The problem escalated when a starter blew to pieces and bound up my motor. We pulled the tranny and a piece of metal had gotten in the way of the flywheel, not allowing the motor to be rotated by hand. So at this point I've replaced the flywheel, a new starter and dust plate that goes between the starter and bellhousing. It still sounds bad when trying to start the engine. I'm almost afraid to keep trying it for fear I'll destroy a $200 starter. So any ideas of what to do next? I had another thread on this about 6 months ago, and it's time to fix this mess. All the major parts are replaced. Open to ideas.
