The Arizona Virtual Jeep Club has it's own search and rescue team to assist members who are missing (rare) or who are stuck (most common).
There is typically no fee charged for either search or rescue efforts, but it is considerate to offer to reimburse members who help you. Members on the AZVJC search and rescue team are sent text messages to their cell phones when a message is posted to either the Urgent Rescue Assistance Forum or the Low Priority Rescue forum located here:
Search and rescue posts of a general nature should be posted in the main portion of the search and rescue forum. Please note that because text messages are widely distributed (the AZVJC has over 100 search and rescue members), please post to the urgent or low priority rescue forums only when necessary.
If you wish to sign up to become a member of the AZVJC search and rescue team, you may do so here:
If you enter an email address, your email account will be notified. If you enter a cell phone email address, it needs to be in the following format depending on your carrier:
Sprint Nextel: 1234567890@messaging.sprintpcs.com (1234567890@pm.sprint.com for MMS)
AT&T: 5551234567@txt.att.net
T-Mobile: 1234567890@tmomail.net (SMS and MMS)
Verizon: 1234567890@vtext.com (1234567890@vzwpix.com for MMS)(limit TXT messages to 150 characters).

Fido: 1234567890@fido.ca (SMS)
If you don't know the provider, you could just send it to all carriers. Your text message will only get delivered to the intended recipient's box because the address is based on the phone number which is unique.
