Well my plans of moving last July got pushed back another 6 months and now I'm back where I started. I plan on moving first of January. Most likely to the Gilbert/Mesa area. I need to secure a job before I move to make the transition easier. If anyone knows of anything I'm looking for something in management, finance, sales or what ever...

Thanks for any Help you can give me...
Tim

You might want to look at DHL... The company I work for. Their IT center for the Western Hemisphere is in Arizona and you might be able to put some of your finance education and IT experience to work...

I don't have any special inside contacts, but they are usually pretty good about calling on positions posted on their website...

Go here and you can search for jobs that you might be interested in....

Lots of stories in the news lately about Google opening up a site here very soon. Not sure if they'll have the kinds of positions you're looking for but worth a shot. One major perk working there are the stock options they give all employees ;)

Funny thing about stock options... The stock has to continue to go up if they are to be really worth anything (unless the company sets the exercise price at less than the current value of the stock)

With Google currently at $308 per share the folks that are going to get rich from the options have already gotten rich.

The way options work is they say.... You have the option to purchase X amount of shares at X fixed price once your option vests at X date.

The X amount of shares varies quite a bit, but lets just say that it is 1000 shares.

The X fixed price is usually the current price of the stock when the option is first issued to the employee, but lets just say it is $308

The X date is usually set far enough in the future to give the employee incentive to stay with the company for at least that period of time, lets just say 5 years.

So if in 5 years you are still with the company and the stock price is now $400. You can buy the 1000 shares from the company for $308 per share or $308,000 which you borrow.

Now you sell them immediately for $400 per share or $400,000 of which $308,000 plus interest you pay back... Now you have made a cool $92,000 minus interest and minus Uncle Sam's cut.

However, if the stock is worth only 310 per share after 5 years, you only make about $2000 of which the interest to borrow the $308,000 is likely to consume after the fees and whatnot.

And if the stock is worth less than $308 per share after 5 years, the option has no value.

Its really the folks that take very risky jobs with startups that pay very little and issue stock options instead that tend to benefit (some of my friends from the SF Bay Area where I grew up did pretty well here).

The odds are really against startups going public and making a lot of money, but for those that instead of salary were paid 100000 stock options at the option price of $0.10 per share that when the company goes public and the stock is now selling for $50 per share that make the big bucks. Someone with this setup makes $4.9 million when they exercise their shares.

Some of the original Google employees capitalized big time from this.

I am not sure why I just decided to educate on how stock options work... But now you know if you didn't already.

I'm well aware of how stock options work, but nice of you to educate the masses ;)

I've got quite a few optioned shares of IBM that are currently underwater but they're good for another 6 years, so there's time yet :)

If you want a managment type, Target Distribution Center is always hiring, but it would be on the other side of the world for you (west valley). All you need is a degree in anything....
