Argh! Hate when people post in HTML. Oh well.

There is a by-pass to "the ledge". It is about 10 miles further
to Crown King.
About 1/2 mile before "the ledge" in the bottom of the wash, take
a left. Follow that road. it is a nice drive, some cool old
machinery to look at and the road is much better.

Normally Crown King is a piece of cake in a stock Jeep. There is
one ledge that has been worse than usual the past 6 months.
Somebody finally removed the ramp of rocks here and alot of
vehicles turn back. The last couple times up I had to winch a
couple vehicles over it. There usually is ice on the portion of
the trail. One TJ has rolled of the cliff next to this obstacle
recently, though I don't think it was an AZVJC member. One of the
vehicles I winched, a Dodge Ram had his rear tires hanging off
the dropoff. Another one, a YJ had both drivers side tires
hanging off. We managed to get both back onto the trail with the
use of a snatch block and winch. Be extremely careful on this
obstacle this time of year! Be sure to travel with others.

Scott

Hello,
I'm a new member, I just bought a 98 Wrangler yesterday. I've
passengered many off-roading trips with my friends, but now I finally
get to drive the trails for myself. Everything is really new to me,
I've reading all the info I can on safe 4x4in' and looking at the
photos and stuff. I am curious on trail ratings.. Whats the rating of
Senator Highway? Thats the road that runs from crown king to prescott.
I'm a huge fan of crown king and I hope to someday make the drive up
from pleasent myself. Check out my Crown king fan site, I'll be
updating it soon with recent photos from just last week, and soon
again with photos with my jeep :)

Sorry I have been so slow to respond to those interested in my springs from

slept in 3 days. Therefore I have not been able to check on shipping price.
I did notice that a couple of you that were interested were in Arizona.
Right now it would make my life a lot easier if one of you could come by and

Okay they were easy trails, but fun no less! The Forrest service was
out there putting up the barbwire fences. They had raked the trails

fences (as if that would stop the almighty jeep)! Anyway, they are
pretty tame hills, but great for beginners and they are gone... all
