I know that this has been stated before, but keep in mind that Dick's
Drive shaft does not accept credit cards of any type. No checking
cards...nothing. This screwed me as I had a shaft made by them, didn't
see the sign on the door when I went in, right before Christmas. Didn't
want spend all the cash on a shaft when the kids were expecting scooters
under the tree, so planned on using my card. Needless to say...I didn't
get the new shaft until after the holidays.

They did do a good job on the shaft. I ended up with a long travel yoke.
Very happy with it.

Dan, having second thoughts now?

I always shoot for zero drivetrain damage. So I'll answer relative
to that...

If your driving skills are good and you have low gearing and good articulation
to go along with those 33s and rear locker, then you have a *good* chance to
get through without *any* damage. For each of those things you don't have,
it will be a little more difficult. I run Terminator frequently and I only
have 33s. However, I have 4.5" of suspension lift, 4.56 gears, locked front
and rear, and have decent articulation (fairly good for a SUA YJ but not that
great compared to lifted TJs or SOA YJs).

Does this help?

Yes. I've seen even less equiped vehicles get through. But I did run
it with a guy in a YJ with 32's, rear locker, open front, and a medium
sized lift. Didn't have problems. The locker is the big thing. If
you've got that, then Terminator should be a fun run for you. Always is
for me.

Nick,

The metal in those stock bumpers is VERY soft. You should be able to trim it with just about any kind of saw or cutting wheel quite easitly. On a YJ I used to own, I bobbed the ends of the bumpers with a cutoff wheel. You could probably cut it with a hacksaw if that was all you had.

Tyranny Personified

During the U.S. Senate confirmation hearings for attorney
general nominee John Ashcroft, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-O'Shea's Saloon) threw a fit
over a perfectly correct statement once made by Ashcroft regarding how the
founding fathers advocated the Second Amendment right to bear arms
because of their belief that a well-armed citizenry constituted yet another
check on governmental tyranny. "What, us, tyrannical?" Kennedy bellowed. He
then demanded that Ashcroft "apologize to the American people" for having
made such an outrageous statement.

Senator Kennedy is perhaps the most important member of
Congress because in incidents like this he reminds Americans of how truly
corrupt, tyrannical, deceitful, and rotten to the core the US State has
become. To Kennedy, murdering some 80 people, including several dozen children,
with poison gas, machine gun fire, and flames in Waco, Texas, because they
allegedly violated a minor gun control law (which is unconstitutional, of
course) is not an act of tyranny.

An FBI sniper shooting a new mother holding her baby in her
arms at her home in Ruby Ridge, Idaho, right between the eyes because her
husband allegedly violated a minor gun law is not an act of tyranny.

Murdering literally thousands of innocent civilians in three
different foreign countries with cruise missile attacks just to
deflect American media attention from Bill Clinton's impeachment trial is
nothing to be concerned about in Ted Kennedy's mind.

The tax police in recent years have audited over a dozen
outspoken conservative and libertarian organizations that have criticized
government intervention, but has not investigated any left-wing groups. There is
supposedly nothing at all suspicious or tyrannical about this, as
well.

The tax cops have a training videotape in which
an "instructor" gives the following advice on how to treat taxpayers: "Make them cry.
We don't give points around here for being good scouts. . . . Seizure and
sales. That's our mind set . . . . You're not out there to take any
prisoners. . . enforce collection until they come to their knees." And
people like Senator Kennedy insist on referring to the federal income
tax as "voluntary" and the tax collection office as a "service."

According to the government's "glancing goose" standard, if a
goose flies over one's property and glances down at the smallest mud
puddle, the government has a right to control the use of that property under the
commerce clause of the Constitution because the goose is likely to
cross state lines and be shot down by a hunter, which would constitute
interstate commerce. This is not a joke. This is an integral part of the EPA's
"wetlands" policy of unconstitutional property confiscation. Nothing
tyrannical about that, either, Senator Kennedy?

Communities all over America have attempted to return to some
semblance of equality under the law by prohibiting racial hiring
quotas, only to be vetoed by a single federal judge, educated at one of the
left-wing propaganda mills known as Ivy League law schools, and
granted lifetime tenure by unscrupulous and downright criminal politicians
like Bill Clinton.

Based on mere hearsay, heavily armed, flak jacketed federal
Drug Enforcement Administration agents can break into one's house in the
middle of the night and confiscate all of one's property if an "informer"
tells them that there may be marijuana plants there. Property is confiscated
without recourse, and it takes years for innocent parties to get it
back, if they ever do. Many innocent citizens (and even their pet dogs)
have been gunned down by federal agents in such raids.

Beginning in 1999, the National Security Agency ran a spy
satellite program named "Echelon" which scans millions of phone calls, e-mails,
and faxes from all around the world, ostensibly looking for "national
security threats." The Soviet Union's secret police were never so prying and
abusive of citizens' privacy.

Despite the Second Amendment's protection of the right to bear
arms, in recent years laws and regulations have been passed that ban
millions of guns, create thousands of "gun-free zones," retroactively
turn more than a million gun owners into felons by declaring their firearms
"illegal assault weapons," and created a national registry of all
people who have purchased firearms, historically the first step to gun
confiscation. All of these laws and regulations are a blatant attack
on the Constitution, our most important safeguard against tyranny.

These are just a few examples of horrifyingly tyrannical
behavior of the US government that has become routine. Politicians like Ted
Kennedy are Orwellian caricatures who apparently believe that TYRANNY IS
FREEDOM, for they are the architects of all these despicable acts of tyranny.
If the American public ever wakes up to this fact, these political
charlatans will hopefully suffer the same fate as the defunct tyrants of the former
communist countries.

Government Control

The family, and all individual liberty inappropriately
labeled 'privileges,' is under attack by a Godless,
perverted government seeking complete control of all
citizens' property, wives, and children. Many malicious
controls are instigated by this socialists administration to
subvert our God-given, blood-bought liberties. Many letters
to the editor in newspapers throughout this country bear the
helpless complaints of a powerless, judicially_castrated
citizenry who cannot recognize the verbal futility of their
social discontent.

Only an aroused, knowledgeable citizenry intent on action,
devoutly animated by unfulfilled political promises and
zealous for our God_given liberties, can change our
political subjugation as supplicants to one of free men and
women. Washington considers us chattel and sheep to be shorn
daily by excessive taxation and unconstitutional controls.
They forget that citizens are masters of both congress and
the courts, not to subvert the constitution, but to remove
those who pervert it.

What a Citizen needs and what they get depends upon the
their actions and courage in the real world - not in the
literary blather found in writings to newspapers or the
Internet. The price of liberty and freedom under any
government requires constant vigilance by the governed.
However, to be effective, that vigilance must have the
powerful physical force of an armed citizenry to enforce and
make it fearful to political demagogues and bureaucrats who
wish to secretly control all citizens.

Without arms we are totally at the mercy of bureaucrats and
politicians who have sold their souls, and ours they hope,
for a mess of Socialist pottage. Our ballot boxes are
totally useless as a force for political change in a nation
with no difference between Republican and Democratic parties
than there is between two ghost dancing in a fog.

I wept in anger and frustration as I watched men, women and
children burned to death in Waco by the pusillanimous ATF
and FBI on orders from Washington. I was equally incensed by
government murders of a young boy and a woman with a baby in
her arms in the Ruby Ridge incident. Too many years later no
government sanctioned murderers have been brought to trial
for these Nazi style murders. Thus, by inaction, citizens
approve the death of justice in the streets of America.

President John Adams stated that our Constitution was
capable of governing a decent, God fearing, religious, law
abiding people and was wholly inadequate for any other. The
supreme court of this once Great, God-fearing Nation
banished the Ten Commandments from the walls of our schools
and courts on the false and farfetched pretext that the
constitution mandates separation of church and state in all
thought, speech and action. Thus constitutionally protected
freedom of religion exited from the national purview. You
see what demonic activities of murder and perverted sexual
teachings replaced the Ten Commandments in Government
schools!

Be not deceived, government is not defined as great and
noble acts. Government is pure, unadulterated force. The
present administration of government denies there is any
such thing as God and trusts in its own Godless force of
arms to control the lives and fortunes of all Americans.
Therefore, we find ourselves at odds with a government which
often becomes an evil, implacable foe, and seeks our
complete subjugation and the ultimate destruction of our
guns, our freedoms and our lives.

The Nazi party passed oppressive laws to control citizens
activity, and required registration of all firearms (sound
familiar?). These firearms were soon confiscated to prevent
any resistance to an ungodly government which became a
Godless tyranny that nearly destroyed all free civilization.
How soon we forget!

For all the lies from government and the media about
protecting 'the children,' the only reason for taking
weapons from a people is to enslave them. Many government
officials realize that, faced with an abused citizenry, an
eventual appointment with justice from an angry, overtaxed,
citizenry lies in their future. This is one of many reasons
that present liberal factions of government desperately
desire to enslave Americans by removing their God-given,
legally guaranteed, Constitutionally declared right to
protect themselves with a weapon from would be murderers,
thieves, rapists and the present, perverted, illegal,
jack-booted thugs hired by the government of the United
States!.

The 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights reads:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of
a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms,
shall not be infringed.

Any citizen not corrupted by government double-speak can
easily understand what 'the People' and 'shall not be
infringed' implies.

"There is no position which depends on clearer principles
than that every act of a delegated authority, contrary to
the tenor of the commission under which it is exercised, is
void. No legislative act, therefore, contrary to the
Constitution can be valid. To deny this would be to affirm
that the deputy is greater than his principle; that the
servant is above his master; that the representatives of the
people are superior to the people themselves; that men
acting by virtue of power may do not only what their powers
do not authorize, but what they forbid."

So says Alexander Hamilton

"What are legislatures? Creatures of the Constitution; they
owe their existence to the Constitution; it is their
commission; and therefore, all their acts must be
conformable to it, or else they will be void. The
Constitution is the work or will of the people themselves,
in their original, sovereign, and unlimited capacity. Law is
the work or will of the legislature in the derivative and
subordinate capacity. The one is the work of the creator;
the other of the creature. The Constitution fixes limits to
the exercise of legislative authority and prescribes the
orbit within which it must move."

So says Justice William Paterson

"The Constitution, therefore, being a fundamental law ....
the judicial power, in the exercise of their authority, must
take notice of it as the groundwork of that as well as of
all other authority, and, as no article of the Constitution
can be repealed by a legislature, which derives its whole
power from it, it follows either that the fundamental
unrepealable law must be obeyed, by the rejection of an act
unwarranted by and inconsistent with it, or you must obey an
act founded on an authority not given by the people, and to
which, therefore, the people owe no obedience."

So says Justice James Iredell

"Prudence, indeed will dictate that Governments long
established should not be changed for light and transient
causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that
mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are
sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms
to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of
abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object
evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it
is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such
government, and to provide new guards for their future
security."

So says our Declaration of Independence.

Isn't it obvious to all that the present corrupt,
excessively greedy, morally perverted administration seeks
to enslave us by disarming the people and then destroying
the very set of laws in the constitution that guarantee our
freedom from such evil men?

As an American Citizen I submit that Gun Control laws, and
other unconstitutional laws, enacted by an arrogant cartel
of Treasonous men seeking to enslave Americans, overthrow
the Constitution Of these United States, and Subvert the
Laws and Corrupt the Citizens of this Republic, are in
Violation of all Natural and Constitutional law.
Furthermore, we Declare and Enable ourselves as Law Abiding,
Gun-owning citizens to resist these illegal, immoral and
unconstitutional laws to the Death of any who would enforce
them!

A hand-held band saw works great. You can probably rent one somewhere.
I borrowed my neighbor's to cut my bumper down.
