Alright, I've finally accepted the fact that the knocking in my engine is not due to a lifter. It is, most likely, a rod bearing or something of the like and will need to be fixed sooner or later:mad: So, my question is, what would be the cost of just rebuilding the lower end? I'm not a wrench head but i'm assuming we're talking about rods, bearings, pistons, rings and a crankshaft at least?
Would the cost be more than just dropping in a rebuilt engine? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This post can be considered an update to my last one asking for help with my knocking engine:mad: Thanks everyone.
