Does any one know of a good out of tank fuel pump for a 91 wrangler. I just
replaced it a year ago and it went out on me again on the way home from
work.

Somebody stole my truck from my work between 10:30 and 11am today(01-26-01)
at the corner of speedway and country club (Tucson). It is a 1987 GMC 4door
1TON Dually, blue hood and roof with silver sides and tailgate, AZ. plate

you see it to call the police and report it a.s.a.p.
Hopefully the police will try to pull them over and they will try to run and
the police will be forced to shoot them! I can hope right!
Thanks again,

Subject: Vacuum lines for YJ
Hey everybody,
I just discovered that my pride and joy, my '95 YJ, has busted, missing, rotted vacuum lines going to the front axle shift motor!! Does anybody know where I can get a reliable diagram of these lines? My Chilton's manual kinda falls short about the control valve on the transfer case. There is only one line that is still intact. I have three that are completely broken and missing. HELP!!

Easiest thing is to just buy a new harness from the dealer. I don't

I like it all mixed up, lets leave it alone. I like seeing who's selling what. I receive all my Jeep mail through Yahoo! mail. This way I get a list of all the messages and only download those I want to read. The rest get sent to the trash can. It's quick and simple and I never miss a single post.
If your AZVJC mail is getting mixed into your regular mail, I suggest you set up folders in your email client and filter all of the mail with [AZ_VJC] in the subject into this folder.

Subject: Opinions Please - Axles and Gears
Here are my current specs:
D44 rear,D30 front,4.10 gears,4.0L,5-speed,36x14.50 TSL Radials.
Here are my plans:
D44 warn 5 on 5.5 full float conversion
D30 warn 5 on 5.5 full float conversion, trussed
NV4500 and V8
- OR -
4.7L Stroker and stock 5-speed
The questions are:
1. With the ring and pinion being the only difference between the two axles
after these modifications, would the D30 still be a lot weaker than a 44
would? Based on the future wheeling of my Jeep, it won't be a rock crawler
but rather a mud/dirt/snow truck.
2. I am interested in getting a little more power to the wheels. I know I
can do this through gearing but I want to keep the D30 as strong as
possible. Would the 4.10's be better with the stroker and the AX-15 OR the
V8 and VN4500 or should I just swap in 4.56's. I don't mind them on the
street, I can use 5th but I'm on the gas a lot.
I drive my Jeep very aggressively on the street and not as aggressively on
the trails. Warn told me to stick with the 4.10's for strength with the
36's if they are working for me now. What do you think of my ideas? I'm
not looking to spend a ton of money on axles swaps so the D60, Ford 9" are
out. I have thought about a Waggy Front 44 but it seems that a trussed D30
with warn 5 on 5.5 conversion is just as strong with the only difference
being the ring and pinion size.
Thanks in advance.

Subject: Tire stickiness info from Jp magazine
I just received the March '01 copy of Jp Magazine. There were some
interesting facts in the Tire Truth article.
Jp magazine used a durometer to measure the hardness of the compound
in some popular tires. A lower number results in a stickier tread
which usually means better traction (which also means reduced tread
life).
Durometer Tire
42 Hoosier Drag Slick (used for comparison)
52 Goodyear MT/R
55 Yokohama Geolander
58 Super Swamper SX

64 BFG Mud Terrain

68 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw bias ply
The article is definitely worth the read time. Interesting info for a

Subject: Re: Opinions Please - Axles and Gears
I don't beleive that the axles are quite as strong in the Dana 30 as a
Dana 44 but unless you are doing hardcore rock climbing you should be
ok.
With the 36" tires I would switch to 4.88; however, with the bigger
motor you could stay with the taller gearing as the additional torque
makes up the difference. While people say the 4.88 is the weaker, which
it probally is, I believe the weak point is still the axle Ujoints. You
are constantly seeing broken ujoints but almost never see a broken ring
gear unless they are running mega HP motors. Since you are going with
the warn 5.5" conversion you might be able to run the Axle Fuse and not
have to worry about the weaker pinion gear.
The stroker is the easier thing to do as it is basicly a bolt in. Big
6's are actually better off road motors as they usually have more torque
down load were it is needed than a comparable sized V8. On road the
oposite is usually true. (Boy am I going to catch flame for these
statements.)

Subject: Re: Opinions Please - Axles and Gears
1) Maybe you ought to contact a few 4-wheelig groups in the area you are
moving to to find out the best modifications. A couple years ago I had
the opportunity to speak with a 4-wheeler from Wisconsin. She said, lots
of suspension & body lift, big tires, D60 or larger axles, and lot of
horsepower were the key.
2) The bigger the r&p ratio, the smaller the teeth. That's why Warn
suggested staying with 4.10s. If you want to go to 4.56s, 4.88s, etc.,
you want larger ring gear or learn how to do r&p installs yourself. I
would bypass the D44s and go directly to D60/70s.
3) you might also consider beefing up the frame and those control arm

Hey everybody,
I just discovered that my pride and joy, my '95 YJ, has busted, missing, rotted vacuum lines going to the front axle shift motor!! Does anybody know where I can get a reliable diagram of these lines? My Chilton's manual kinda falls short about the control valve on the transfer case. There is only one line that is still intact. I have three that are completely broken and missing. HELP!!

62 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radial

Subject: Re: Vacuum lines for YJ
I recently got a new vacuum harness from Pitre in Scottsdale for about
$33. The toughest part is just routing the lines like the stock ones. It's
doable but it takes some time.

3) you might also consider beefing up the frame and those control arm
brackets.
In the end, I think the only thing that will be original on your TJ is
the VIN plate!
