Just got back from picking up the Jeep from a friend of Eric's named Paul. He did the 8.8 work in exchange for my hard doors and there couldn't have been anyone but him and his son Keith that would have done better.
I do just have one slight problem though. According to them, I do have a bent passenger side axle shaft. Kevin says I'd feel a shimmy and that there is a bit of wheel wobble (of course I can't see it myself, it's on the wrong side). But on the way home I never felt anything. Could be the extra padding on my rear. :p ;) :D But now I'm interested in see if I can get some chromoly shafts.
With that said, I'm going to be searching the web some in the next couple of hours so if anyone has any idea if there is someone out there that does the 8.8 31 spline shafts, let me know. Also if you run across someone with shafts from a Ford Explorer that are 31 spline, let me know. :)
Also a big thanks out to Rachel for dropping me off there to pick 'er up. :D
Pics tomorrow if I don't die from illness tonight.

Check out the Moser Engineering site and lookup the C-clip eliminator kit for your housing ($150), it's either 1.4 bearing seat or 1.53 and then order a set of alloy shafts from them for $315.

Heard about Moser and visited the site earlier. Nice stuff. Not sure if I need the c-clip eliminator as I've haven't read anything about the c-cilps going on the 8.8.
$315 is a little steep then add shipping costs too, basically takes the cash I was going to use towards a belly up. What about the other shaft producers out there?

What gears are your 8.8 and did you get it with limited slip?

I'm pretty sure all the 8.8's from the Explorers have c-clips. Whether or not to eliminate is the subject of much debate.

Yep, all Exploder's have C-clips but I haven't heard of anyone breaking one...

Exactly.... haven't heard that too and some were shocked that I had a bent axle shaft as it's rare I guess to have that with an 8.8. It's either all or nothing.
Antman,
As was stated it was 3.73 with a limited slip. :D
As promised a few pics:

If there is anything specific someone wants to see, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Time to get a rock ring or a new HD cover. It seems that the cover can come in contact with the Kilby skid. I'm not sure how to remedy that completely since the Kilby skid is moved as forward as possible already, unless notching it might be what can solve the problem..

Just wanted to thank Hackle for hooking me up with a Superior HD replacement axle shaft for the passenger side and a stock driver's side shaft for a reasonable price.
Thanks a lot!!!! :)

Glad to see that they will work out for you.

Now Jamie, you need to learn how to apply some E-brake handle to get that limited slip to work like a real locker. I'm sure you be happy with it.:D

I know what a limited slip is, I know what a locker is, but what the heck is a "Spool"??

it is a direct connction of both shafts with no torque spliting (carrier with or without a locker)

You basically replace the carrier and spider gears with, well, a spool that locks them up. The same thing can be accomplished by welding the spider gears up so they differentiate the torque.

is a "Spool"??
