always pay cash for driveshafts that run $200+.
Now........that having been said, it seems that both have their good and bad
stories. I've had 1 drive shaft made with a C/V shaft, one shaft lengthened
and was impressed by their work. A buddy had a drive shaft for his Blazer
shortened and had good luck. Another buddy had a front drive shaft made with
long slip splines and likes the quality, but hasn't gotten to actually run it

Selling them for $20 each (tire and rim together). I can only carry

pick them up. 4 of them have 100 miles on them; the other 2 have
about 800, but are in near-perfect shape. Rims are all straight,

why it was refusing to turn, the rim was pushing the rotor into the

I'm a little less paranoid about it now. I think I'll try the additive and
see if it quiets down and if not then I guess I'll just live with it for a
while until I get around to having it checked out.
On a side note:
Being new around this list, I was a little confused that the reply email
address ends up bsing the person who sent the email instead of the egroups
address like I am used too. I ended up emailing the first guy who replied
but then realised that it didnt make it to the list so I reposted it.
Perhaps that might be why I received alot of emails with similar advice,
since the others didnt see those replies. (I got like 8 posts recommending
running the VIN with the dealer, another 5 or so suggesting replacing the
fluid, etc..)

No what it was , the spacing is dif as I said, yours back to back is 3.5 cm mine is 4.3 cm from back of backing plate to back of lug plate. as I tightened the wheels the dif spacng would tighten the wheel to the rotor and push the rotor into the dust plate. rather simple yet frstrating...

I've stopped calling them, ever. They have quoted me double what I could
by new parts from a Jeep dealer for used parts!!! When I kindly pointed
that out, I was told where I could shove it. I'm not sure what's up with
them.

Subject: Stock Tires For Sale
I have 6 P205/75R15 tires on the jeep 15x7 steel rims for sale.
Selling them for $20 each (tire and rim together). I can only carry
2 on my jeep, so you would have to come to Tempe (next to ASU) to
pick them up. 4 of them have 100 miles on them; the other 2 have
about 800, but are in near-perfect shape. Rims are all straight,
unscratched, and have good valves. Guess they would be good for
trailers or whatnot.
Email or call me if interested.

I know they aren't the cheapest, but you must have got on their bad side
some how. Dave over there knows just about everything there is to know
about Jeeps and he often spends quite a bit of time talking to me sharing
his knowledge and offering advice. He pretty much told me everything I
needed to know to pull my tranny and replace the slave cylinder in my YJ.
I've had good luck there.

I've heard that about him before. I've never spoken to him. Maybe I'll
give them a try again next time I need something, I'll just make sure to
talk to him instead of that lady or anyone else.

Ok got the old one off, and bolted the new one on.. Bolted the

Unbolted it, it spins.. Semi-tightened one lug and it refuses to
spin..It is obviously hitting something, what could it possibly hit
that would cause this to happen? I toer it down three or four times
and no difference..?? Please help..

FWIW...I had a driveshaft made for the Chevy at Dick's...it has held up to some
abuse without fail. It looks really nice, and doesn't vibrate at all (quite an
accomplishment as long and large as it is). So....Dick's also has my vote!

I see the other one did not post, in any case it was the wrong one,
the spacing on yours was 3.5 from the back of the backing plate to
the back of the stud plate. Mine was 4.3 form back to back.. That is
why it was refusing to turn, the rim was pushing the rotor into the
dust shield. perhaps there is a diference between left and right
bearing assemblies, perhaps not. Does anybody have on that measures
the 4.3 I need to go 4 wheeling this weekend and I would love to hit
the t-shirt runs this weekend, plese somebody have an extra, oh and
by the way hackle I guess I need to get this other one back to you.
thanks..

is it worth the money, will it fit on a factory TJ rear bumper?

Wow, I received a whopping amount of suggestions to this post. Thanks
everyone!

Is the inside of the wheel hitting the caliper? That would seem to be
the only thing it could hit.

Dan,
I have the Tomken, and also bought the tomken bumper
with reciever. $200 each, so $400 total. I believe
it will fit, but I don't think the stock bumper will
hold the weight.

That's why this list is so great. Over 400 people to help answer questions.
Imagine filling a small hall with avid 4 wheel enthusiasts, standing at the
mic, and asking your questions. That is essentially what this list is.
That's why I love it!!!!! It's by far one of the best lists out there.

If the old lady answers the phone either hang up or ask for Dave....
otherwise you are wasting your time and you'll get those ridiculous
price quotes.
