Ok, so I was born and raised in Az and used to go quail hunting in the Table Mesa area all the time. I haven't been up there in about 5 years and decided to make a run when I was in town a few weeks ago. I got off I-17 at Table Mesa, went across the overpass, turned right and followed the asphalt down a ways until it turned to dirt. I came to a "Y" and took the left option. It looked like the dirt road has been graded ALOT. I followed this graded road until it made a 90 degree turn to the left and I went straight into a river bed. The river bed that I followed seemed to join another trail and I turned right. Oh yeah, there was a huge pile of trash at the trail intersection. Looked like there was a car in the middle of pile of trash. I continued down the wash until I came to a large area that had a "crack" running through it. Since I was alone, I didn't want to go to far into the trail. I walked through the open area and the crack came to a couple of small water holes. That's as far as I went. Somebody told me it was Raw Deal, but I don't know. I'd definately like to run the rest of this trail some day. Does anybody know this trail and what it is called. Thanks.

It is raw deal. Its a pretty easy trail a stock rig should make it with no problem as long as you avoid the hard lines:D

Yup, that looks like it. Although I don't think I went far enough into the trail to find a crack that deep. The one that I found was only about a foot or 2 deep. Pretty cool trail though. I'll definately run the rest of it next time. Thanks again.

I'm somewhat familiar with the table mesa area, but I'm confused as how to get to these trails.

When you leave the i-17 and head west, you leave the asphalt and keep heading west where you encounter an obvious fork. The right path is graded smooth and the left get rough shortly after. When going left, you cross a narrow cattle guard and end up in the agua fria (i belive??) river bed. When continuing going southwest, you end up at the back of lake pleasant. I've never taken the left fork.

From this area, where are these trails?

Joe they are everywhere, darn near, out there. You'll find new trails by turning off the main roads and hitting the washes. I recommend heading out there with someone who has done some wheeling out there and you'll see the trails just jumping out at ya. It would be tough for someone to give exact directions to each trailhead without using GPS coordinates.....
Hope this helps,
Huck/Dr. Rock......

Ive been out there at night under the moon's direction of light. Do these trails last long or loop? I stopped after running in about a hour in. By then it was 3am. (upset at g-friend)

I might try it again this week..

Is GPS really the best way to navigate.. Im going to try and do it this time. Do you guys know if somebody has hidin any of those geocache's up there. Mine as well do something with my time
