View Full Version : Membership ranks reduced...

Hi Gang,
In keeping with the forum standard of not allowing inactive members to maintain accounts longer than 6 months, I have deleted roughly 150 inactive accounts.
I do this for a number of reasons:
1. Inflated membership count such as the one on yahoogroups is meaningless. Why track numbers if they don't mean anything.
2. Deleting unused accounts makes it more difficult for members with hidden agendas to maintain "alter ego" accounts.
and finally...
3. It gives our forum sponsors a rough idea of how large their audience is when they run specials for the club.

Joe I understand that this is primarily a Phoenix group, but do you have a way to brake out how many are from other areas of the state. I have a good idea who is from up there and sometimes some of the Tucson folks but not always and of couse Nena and Antman. Could you set it up similiar to the Rubicon Owners Forum to where their location is shown under their avatar? Just a thought, could make it easier on posting trips and where they are coming from. Plus sometimes its just different concerns from different areas.
Mostly a watcher.

It shows the location on the right side of the screen...shows you as being from Tucson and Joe from Mesa, AZ. This of course is only as accurate as what a user enters when they sign up.

True - I think Eric (Devilman) changes his location entry as often as he does his avatar :)

Thanks Joe for removing lurkers after 6 months. This should help quite a bit. This a positive step in the right direction to weed out all those who are here for the wrong reasons.
And just a side note. Anyone who try's to sign up with hong or kong in there signature. Dont let em in. I'm so sick of seeing that nut jobs posts.

Who's bringing the SOBE's?
Roy Rogers and Kit Carson, where are you? R U coming? C U Friday night?
Sorry, I meant to keep this on target. Joe I have wondered what the members activities were on this site. I guess that on the other site, some people sign up again and again..........hence the 5 thousand plus members there. Good work Joe.!

Had a friend try to sign up as a member last week..He tried about 5 times and the system wouldn't let him...I told him I would check...Can you tell if Anthony Alexander is lost in e-space somewhere ? I told him it was our idiot-filter and it was working just fine...He asked how I got in then...

Okay.............. I am mostly in Denver but do keep a jeep down in Fountain Hills. It has a full tank of $2.79 (as I recall) per gallon gas from July. Does this mean I can get my hand stamped for another six months? :D
I plan to be back down again after muzzleloading season in a couple of weeks. We drive my wifes Subaru Outback which gets about 25 mpg. It is about a 1700 mile round trip that averages around twelve hours each way. We will be checking airfares for this one. I filled my Unlimited here in Denver yesterday for $2.79 a gallon. I hope to save that tank for the drive to hunting camp. My last tank averaged 15.6 mpg.
