This came up on the Yahoo board, so thought I may as well post it here, too:

Here are two different ways we have made a 3rd belt fit in the backseat of a TJ. (And, yes, three kids is a tight fit--they better get along really well!)

Pick up a seatbelt at Checker, Autozone, whoever. I like to get the most contrasting color available so that folks aren't confused about which belt goes where.

The brackets that come with most of the aftermarket belts now are too narrow to fit the stock belt bracket in between both brackets, so I threaded both belt straps through only one bracket. Then pound the stock bracket outward with a sledge hammer to flatten it so the rear seat would still snap down into place, with the extra height added by the new belt bracket.

This is an older belt that had bigger "ears" on the brackets, so were able to fit both brackets under the stock bracket. There may still be some of these on the market, but I haven't looked that hard.
